Formula 1: Blown engine at Shanghai gives Trey Wright the first last-place finish of his SCRL career

Trey Wright picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Red Bull Formula One Series career in the Season 2 Chinese Grand Prix at the Shanghai International Circuit when his #11 Sahara Force India F1 Team fell out with engine problems after completing 2 of the 6 laps.

The finish came in his 7th career start. 

In the SCRL Red Bull Formula One Series, it's the 1st for car #11 and the 1st for engine issues. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 11th for the #11 and the 46th for engine issues. Entering the second season of the Formula One Series, Wright had found success before in the SCRL, scoring one career win, in the SCRL Tim Hortons Canadian Series, at Delaware, but had never competed in the F1 Series. Wright's F1 career started off on a high note, winning in his debut at Melbourne, 17th at Bahrain, 4th at Hockenheimring, 7th at Zandvoort, 21st at CTMP before finishing 4th in the last round at Monza.

On race day, Wright rolled off starting 12th while starting in the final spot was the #3 Red Bull Racing of Marcus Saatchi, a spot that Saatchi would hold for the first lap before knocking back two time last-place finisher the #21 Haas F1 Team of Tony Newman into last on Lap 2, as Newman would trail for two laps when Wright, who was running 13th when entering the final turn he pulled into the pit road as the team looked over the car and discovered the engine had blown, ending Wright's day and taking last on Lap 4.

Rounding out the Bottom Five would finish on the same lap as the race leaders: 21st was the aforementioned #21 of Tony Newman, 20th was Newman's teammate the #8 Haas F1 Team of Joseph Huffman, 19th was the #14 McLaren-Honda F1 Team of Rodger McLaughlin and 18th was the #33 Scuderia Toro Rosso of Gordon Schmidt.

Formula E: Jeff Cornils crashes out early at Toronto

Jeff Cornils picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Formula E Series Presented by Twitter career in the Season 2 Toronto ePrix at the Streets of Toronto when his #18 Cafe de Colombia was involved in a single-car crash after 3 of the 9 laps.

The finish came in his 5th career start. In the SCRL Formula E Series, it's the 1st for car #18 and the 7th from a crash. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 6th for the #18 and the 232nd from a crash. Cornils was one of the nine rookies that signed up to complete in the second season for the Formula E Series and was looking to make a name for himself, but found that the cars were tough to handle, finishing 16th in his debut at Adelaide. A 3rd at Shanghai in the next race would be followed with a 8th at Vancouver before finishing 10th in the last round at Monaco.

The entry list for Toronto was bumped up to 23 cars as 10 time SCRL race winner and Season 2 SCRL Tim Hortons Canadian Series Champion Chris Kyle, owner of the YouTube league ISCR, was tabbed to make his FE debut, driving a one-off for the Dreyer & Reinbold racing team in their #22 Comfort Revolution / Brantley Gilbert at Kyle's home track.

On race day, Cornils rolled off 3rd while starting in the final spot was the #20 Fuzzy's Ultra Premium Vodka of TJ Dent, a position that Dent would hold through the first lap as the first caution would come out for the #41 ABC Supply Co. AJ Jones, who spun out in Turn 5. During the caution flag, Cornils reported to his team of having a flat left front tire and was forced to make a pit stop, dropping the #18 into last on Lap 2. When the green flag came back out, Cornils was trailing the field as he entered Turn 7 with too much speed and crashed hard into the tire barrier, bringing out the second caution of the day, ending Cornils day.

Further up the track another crash would break out as leader Adelaide last-place finisher the #28 DHL of Anthony Stewart once again had bad luck strike as he too went too wide in the turn, hitting a tire barrier as well and knocking him out of the race, having been scored on the same lap as Cornils, but was ranked higher due to being higher in position at the time of the crash.

Just three laps later, the #9 Target of Mikali Kose crashed in the same turn as Cornils, and just three turns later, the aforementioned #41 of AJ Jones would also crash into a tire barrier, bringing out the final caution of the day and ending both drivers day.

Rounding out the Bottom Five on the same lap as the race leaders was the #14 ABC Supply Co. of Joe Jefferson.

Formula 2: Broken header at Donington Park gives Eddie Wycombe SCRLASTCAR Championship lead with six races to go

Eddie Wycombe picked up the 3rd last place finish of his SCRL Formula 2 Series career in Round 10 at Donington Park Circuit when his #25 Virgin Racing fell out with header problems after completing 6 of the 8 laps.

The finish, which came in his 10th career start, was his first on the circuit since Round 7 at Circuit de Catalunya when he completed 7 of the 8 laps under power, 2 races ago. In the SCRL Formula 2 Series, it's the 3rd for car #25 and the 1st for header issues. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 13th for the #25 and the 18th for header issues. After trailing the field at Catalunya, Wycombe and his team looked to change their season around in the 9th round and did just that, finishing a series best 2nd.

On race day, Wycombe rolled off starting 7th while starting last was two time last-place finisher the #4 Mercedes GP Petronas F1 Team of Jason Larker, a position he would hold for only a few seconds as entering Turn 1, the #9 AT&T Williams of Celious Wolf was spun out by the #23 BMW Sauber F1 Team of Cole Nixey, bringing out the race's first caution as Wolf would trail the field for the first lap. When the green flag came back out on Lap 6, once again just as the field entered Turn 1, Wycombe, who had fallen back to 8th, began to slow entering Turn 1 before the car started to smoke, with Wycombe's car stalling on track, bringing out the second and final caution of the day. Wycombe's car would be towed back to the garage with the cause of the problem being a broken header.

Rounding out the Bottom Five were: 18th was the #3 Mercedes GP Petronas F1 Team of Jack Canaramo, 19th was the aforementioned #9 of Celious Wolf, 18th was the aforementioned #4 of Jason Larker and 17th was the #23 of Cole Nixey.

Formula 2: Contact with teammate Jack Canaramo at Donington Park gives Jason Larker the second last-place finish of his F2 career

Jason Larker picked up the 2nd last place finish of his SCRL Formula 2 Series career in Round 9 at Donington Park Circuit when his #4 Mercedes GP Petronas F1 Team completed all 8 laps under power.

The finish, which came in his 9th career start, was his first on the circuit since Round 4 at Circuit de Spa Francorchamps when he was involved in a single-car accident after 4 of 6 laps, 5 races ago. In the SCRL Formula 2 Series, it's the 2nd for car #4 and the 9th where the car was still running. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 10th for the #4 and the 217th where the car was still running. After trailing the field at Spa, Larker finished 18th and 10th at Hungaroring before finishing 6th and 4th in the last round at Catalunya.

On race day, Larker rolled off starting 14th while starting last was the #15 Force India F1 Team of Chakat Duskwatcher, a position that Duskwatcher would hold all the way up until the final turn when Larker made contact with his teammate the #3 Mercedes GP Petronas F1 Team of Jack Canaramo as the two cars would spin off track, taking the #22 BMW Sauber F1 Team of Daniel Price with them. While none of the drivers would receive any major damage, the cars would all trail the field for the remaining laps.

Rounding out the Bottom Five were: 18th was first Silverstone last-place finisher the #2 Vodafone McLaren Mercedes of Leonard Pearson and 17th was the #8 Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro of Tracey Dent.

Throwback ARCA: Early tire issues knocks long time veteran Colin Dryburgh out at Gateway

Colin Dryburgh picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Lucas Oil ARCA Racing Series career in the Season 1 Shop n' Save 150 at the Gateway International Raceway when his unsponsored #6 Eddie Sharp Racing Chevrolet fell out with tire problems after completing 2 of the 40 laps.

The finish came in his 5th career start.

Dryburgh by this point in his career had already found success in the SCRL and was looking to bring that over to the ARCA Series. Dryburgh led 1 lap and would finish 5th in his ARCA debut at Daytona, 7th at Atlanta, 17th at Charlotte before finishing 36th in the last round at Talladega.

On race day, Dryburgh would roll off 27th while starting last was the #44 Ansell / Menards Toyota of Josh Barker a spot he would hold for the first two turns when chaos broke out rather quickly as the #10 Milwaukee Crusher Co. / Double H Ranch Chevrolet of Don Benson was spun out by the #52 Federated Auto Parts Toyota of Aidan Shepherd, spinning Benson out in front of the field, amazingly everyone was able to avoid, while further up the track, Shepherd himself was spun out by the #11 Syngenta Ford of Todd Kennedy, spinning Shepherd out in front of the field as he wasn't so lucky as Shepherd's car would be damaged after being hit by the unsponsored #68 Kimmel Racing Ford of Ford of Nick Kennedy.

As the field drove around the one mile track under caution, Dryburgh's car began to slow and pulled to the apron and then the access road and onto pit road before pulling into his stall, as the team looked over the car and found that the tires had already been worn out after only two laps, and due to the team's lack of funds, were only able to afford a limited amount of tires, and with Kentucky only a few days later, the team decided to park the car and prepare the car for the next event, as Dryburgh would be the only retiree of the event.

Finishing 39th was the aforementioned #68 of Nick Kennedy, who had received damage during the first caution and while the team was able to repair most of the damage, the car lacked in power, and would lose two laps to the race leaders by the time the checkered flag was flown.

The remaining Bottom Five would finish on the same circuit as the race leaders: 38th was the aforementioned #52 of Aidan Shepherd, 37th was the #11 of Todd Kennedy and finishing 36th was Atlanta last-place finisher the #09 Hudson Performance Drivelines Dodge of Richard Torres.

Dryburgh would never score a win in the ARCA Series, but he would in the SCRL ARCA Truck Series, scoring a win at Toledo and would score his first ever championship in the SCRL. Overall, Dryburgh has one championship and has visited victory lane 19 times in his SCRL career and still competes in the SCRL.

Formula 3: Early spin at Kyalami gives rookie Zachary Billson the first last-place finish of his career

Zachary Billson picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Formula 3 Series career in Round 10 at the Kyalami Circuit when his DHL / Sun Drop Citrus Soda completed all 11 laps under power.

The finish came in his 10th career start. In the SCRL Formula 3 Series, it's the 1st for car #28 and the 8th where the car was still running. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 12th for the #28 and the 216th where the car was still running. Billson was one of several rookies looking to move up the ranks of the SCRL by competing in it's lowest Formula division, Formula 3. Billson finished 5th in his debut before finishing 15th in the second event at Catalunya, 19th and 4th at Silverstone, 7th and 22nd at Hockenheimring, 5th and 16th at Hungaroring before finishing 6th in the first round at Kyalami.

On race day, Billson rolled off starting 18th while starting last was first Kyalami race winner the #17 Automatic Fire Sprinklers of Toma Lakatos, a position that Lakatos wouldn't hold for long, quickly knocking second Catalunya last-place finisher the #8 BMC / Embrase / Hyundai Brazil of Elliott Rose into the last spot. Rose would trail for only one lap as he would knocked the #1 IZOD of Sebastian Cucalon into last the next lap, a position he would hold until entering Turn 10, Cucalon and Billson made contact, spinning both cars out. Cucalon would quickly rebound while Billson struggled to get his car back into gear before he continued on, falling 46 seconds down by the time the checkered flag waved.

Rounding out the Bottom Five were: 22nd the aforementioned #1 of Sebastian Cucalon, 21st was the #5 CITGO / PDVSA of Greg Torres, 20th was the #54 ABC Supply Co. of Sebastian Dent and 19th was second Silverstone last-place finisher the #21 Exide Batteries of Simon Fox.

Formula 3: Dilan Ebrahimian last at Kyalami

Dilan Ebrahimian picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Formula 3 Series career in Round 9 at the Kyalami Circuit when his #12 Verizon completed all 11 laps under power.

The finish came in his 9th career start. In the SCRL Formula 3 Series, it's the 1st for car #12 and the 7th where the car was still running. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 6th for the #12 and the 215th where the car was still running. Ebrahimian is still somewhat of a rookie in the SCRL, having made his debut in the SCRL Snap-On Tools Whelen Southern Series before competing in the SCRL NASCAR Legends Series before signing on to driver in the lowest Formula division the SCRL sanctions; the Formula 3 division. Ebrahimian finished 13th and 18th at Catalunya, 6th and 15th at Silverstone, 9th and 10th at Hockenheimring before finishing 12th in the last round at Hungaroring.

On race day, Ebrahimian rolled off starting 9th while starting last the #16 RC Cola of Oscar Isaac, a position that Isaac would hold briefly as he made a three wide move in Turn 1, knocking the #5 CITGO / PDVSA of Greg Torres into the final spot. Torres would trail for the first lap before knocking the #10 Target of Laura Delano into the final spot on Lap 2, but her stay in the final spot when last only one lap as she knocked Greg back into last on Lap 3. Torres would continue to trail the field as the laps went on while Ebrahimian continued to struggle with a power handing car and by the time the white flag waved, he had fallen back to 22nd, just in front of Torres. As the field raced toward Turn 1, Greg made a move and passed Ebrahimian, knocking him into the final spot. As much as Ebrahimian tried to get back around Torres over the remaining 10 turns, he was unable to, finishing last for just the second time in his career.

Rounding out the Bottom Five were: 22nd the aforementioned #5 of Greg Torres, 21st was the #10 of Laura Delano, 20th was the #9 Target of Christian Russell and 19th for the second race in a row was the #11 GEICO / Mouser Electronics of Nathan Ormond.

Formula 1: Broken gearbox prevents Trevor Collins from completing a lap at Monza

Trevor Collins picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Red Bull Formula One Series career in the Season 2 Grand Prix of Italy at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza when his #22 McLaren-Honda F1 Team fell out with gearbox problems without completing any of the 7 laps.

The finish came in his 6th career start. In the SCRL Red Bull Formula One Series, it's the 4th for car #22 and the 2nd for gearbox issues. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 13th for the #22 and the 11th for gearbox issues. Collins was one of several rookies drivers who signed on to compete in the SCRL's highest Formula division, with Collins finishing 17th in his debut at Melbourne. A 19th at Bahrain, 11th at Hockenheimring, 13th at Zandvoort before scoring his points of the season with a 7th in the last round at CTMP.

On race day, Collins was scheduled to roll off starting 3rd while starting in the final spot was the the #19 Williams Martini Racing of Patrick Smith, but just as the field was coming out of the final turn to begin the race, Collins followed the pace car down pit road as the green flag was waved, pulling into his pit stall as the car was looked over by the team, discovering that the gearbox had been broken and was beyond repair with the car being listed as "out" by the 4th lap as the car could be seen still in the pit stall with the crew working up until the fourth lap. Meanwhile at the same time the crew was still working on the car, as the field came out of the final turn to complete the first lap, Zandvoort last-place finisher the #26 Scuderia Toro Rosso of David Solomon pulled into the pits as well, reporting of a blown engine before pulling into his stall. While both Collins and Solomon were both scored having not completed a lap, the final spot was awarded to Collins.

Finishing 20th was the #5 Scuderia Ferrari of Richard Torres, who also made a trip to pit road on the fifth circuit, reporting problems with the transmission of the car, as the team lost a lap in the pits working on repairs before sending their driver back out to be running at the finish, the only other car to not finish on the same lap as the race leaders.

Rounding out the Bottom Five were: 19th the #44 Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team of Steve Larker and 18th was the #33 Red Bull Racing of Gordon Schmidt.

Formula E: Gregg Speed's early crash at Monaco proves to be a long day for the Speed brothers; TJ Dent returns to victory lane for the first time in four years

Gregg Speed picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Formula E Series Presented by Twitter career in the Season 2 Monaco ePrix at the Circuit de Monaco when his #17 Automatic Fire Sprinklers was involved in a single-car crash after 2 of the 8 laps.

The finish came in his 4th career start. In the SCRL Formula E Series, it's the 1st for car #17 and the 6th from a crash. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 8th for the #17 and the 231st from a crash. Gregg and his brother Nick were two of the nine rookies that made up the 22 car field that were looking to make names for themselves in the SCRL's second highest formula division and both would impress early on with Greg winning in his first start at Adelaide while Nick would score his first win the very next week at Shanghai before Gregg would finish 7th in the last round at Vancouver.

On race day, Gregg rolled off 10th while starting in the final spot was Adelaide last-place finisher the #28 DHL of Anthony Stewart, a position that Stewart would hold up until Turn 5 when he knocked the #15 National Guard of Nick Productions into the final spot, a position that Productions would hold for the first lap and then through Turn 14 when the battle for last ended. Gregg had worked his way into the 8th spot when entering Turn 14, Gregg's car wheel hopped, causing the car to spin out and hit the tire barrier with the driver's side of the car, ending his day after two laps.

Finishing 21st just four laps later was Gregg's brother, the #16 Mi-Jack of Nick Speed, who would also have a tangle with the Turn 14 wall, ending his day and completing a sweep of the Bottom Two for the Speed family.

Rounding out the Bottom Five were drivers who finished on the same lap as the race leaders: 20th was the #41 ABC Supply Co. of AJ Jones, 19th was the #63 Susan G. Komen Foundation of Kerri Love and finishing 18th was the aforementioned #15 of Nick Productions.

The victory went to TJ Dent, who last visited victory lane in the now discontinued ONL Classic Truck Series at Charlotte on October 7, 2015. Dent had been completing on a part-time bias over the last few years before him and his brother Ty came back to complete full time in Season 4 of the SCRL NASCAR Legend Series. Ty would chose to compete in the SCRL Red Bull Formula One Series where he would also break his losing steak of five years, winning back-to-back races at CTMP and Zandvoort.

Formula 2: Contact with team mate Marko Tellez at Catalunya makes Eddie Wycombe the first driver to trail a F2 race twice

Eddie Wycombe picked up the 2nd last place finish of his SCRL Formula 2 Series career in Round 7 at Circuit de Catalunya when his #25 Virgin Racing completed 7 of the 8 laps under power.

The finish, which came in his 8th career start, was his first on the circuit since Round 3 at Circuit de Spa Francorchamps when he completed all 6 laps under power, 4 races ago. In the SCRL Formula 2 Series, it's the 2nd for car #25 and the 8th where the car was still running. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 12th for the #25 and the 214th where the car was still running. After trailing the field at Spa, Wycombe finished 12th in the second Spa event before finishing 6th and 2nd at Hungaroring.

On race day, Wycombe would roll off starting 11th while starting last was first Catalunya last-place finisher the #10 AT&T Williams of Devohn Blue, a position that Blue would hold for the first lap. As the field entered Turn 1 to complete lap two, Wycombe was battling his team mate the #24 Virgin Racing of Marko Tellez when the two cars made contact exiting Turn 2, sending Wycombe for a spin, hitting the concrete wall and getting stuck in the gravel trap. Wycombe's car would be towed back to pit road as repairs were made to the car as they would lose a lap before sending their driver back out to be running at the finish, the only car to not finish on the lead lap.

Devohn Blue picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Formula 2 Series career in Round 7 at Circuit de Catalunya when his #10 AT&T Williams completed all 8 laps under power.

The finish came in his 7th career start. In the SCRL Formula 2 Series, it's the 1st for car #10 and the 8th where the car was still running. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 17th for the #10 and the 213th where the car was still running. Blue had never competed in a SCRL race before the series made it's debut at Silvertone, and looking to make a big statement, Blue impressed by winning in his SCRL debut and finished 8th in the second round, before finishing 15th and 6th at Spa before finishing 14th in back-to-back races at Hungaroring.

On race day, Blue would roll off starting 12th while starting last was second Silverstone last-place finisher the #6 Red Bull Racing of Mark Owens, a position that Owens would hold for the first two laps before the next lap Owens would move up a spot and knocked Blue back into the final spot, a position that Blue would hold for the remaining laps.

Throwback TRUCK: Rookie Jack Decker picks up the lone last-place finish of his career at Portland

Jack Decker picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Rainbow Dash Truck Series career in the Season 1 Maxx Race Cards 200 at the Portland Speedway when his #28 NAPA / United Brake Systems Ford completed all 10 laps in the LCQ.

The finish came in his 5th career series start. Decker was one of several rookies looking to make a name for himself in the SCRL's third highest divison by competing in the truck series. Decker's career started off with a 20th at Phoenix, 35th at Tucson, 31st at Saugus before finishing 34th in the last round at Mesa Marin.

With the track only able to fit 34 trucks, the last three in points would be forced to battle it out for the last two spots. On race day, Decker would roll off the field in 2nd place in the LCQ while starting last was the the #2 Ultra Custom Wheels / ASE  Ford of Josh Barker, as the field began their pace lap, Decker's truck stalled in Turn 1 and would be towed back to the pits as the field took the green flag. Decker's team discovered the problem was just a flat left rear tire, and gave their driver four fresh ones to try and catch back up, but by this point he was already two laps down, and due to there being only three trucks, no other problems would happen, and Decker finished two laps down, failing to advance.

Finishing 35th was the #20 Walker Evans Racing Dodge of Aidan Shepherd, who was taken out in a Lap 2 crash after being turned into the outside wall, hitting it head on. 34th was the #16 Papa John's Pizza Chevrolet of Morgan McPherson, who hit Tucson last-place finisher the #43 Snapper Power Equipment of Josh Nixey in the driver's door, ending McPherson's day.

The remaining Bottom Five would finish a lap down to the race leaders; 33rd was the #24 DuPont Automotive Finishes Chevrolet of John Arndt and 32nd was the #31 Performance Race Cars Chevrolet of Truttle.

Decker would never officially visit victory lane in the SCRL, but he would score a LCQ win in the trucks series later in the season at I-70 Speedway. Decker's best finish officially in the truck series would be a 3rd in the season finale at Phoenix, and would finish 27th in the final point standings.

Formula 3: Jacob Rose trails for the first time in his career at Hungaroring

Jacob Rose picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Formula 3 Series career in Round 8 at Hungaroring when his #7 McAfee / Bing completed all 10 laps under power.

The finish came in his 8th career start. In the SCRL Formula 3 Series, it's the 1st for car #7 and the 6th where the car was still running. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 12th for the #7 and the 212th where the car was still running. Jacob was one of 11 rookies making their debut in the SCRL's lowest Formula division. Jacob finished 4th and 14th at Catalunya, before finishing 21st and then scored his first career SCRL sanctioned win in the second round at Silverstone. Finish of 14th and 12th would follow in the last round at Hockenheimring.

On race day, Rose rolled off starting 18th while starting last was two time last-place finisher the #97 Advance Auto Parts of Damian Blue a position that Damian would hold for only four turns as Damian knocked the #9 Target of Christian Russell into the final spot, a position Russell would hold for the first lap. By the time the field had worked their way to Turn 5, Russell had passes Jacob and knocked him into the last spot. Rose would try as hard as he could over the next eight laps, but he was unable to gain any spots.

Formula 3: Engine failure at Hungaroring makes Damian Blue the first driver to trail twice in the Formula 3 Series

Damian Blue picked up the 2nd last place finish of his SCRL Formula 3 Series career in Round 7 at Hungaroring when his #97 Advance Auto Parts fell out with engine problems after completing 6 of the 10 laps.

The finish, which came in his 7th career start, was his first on the circuit since Round 5 at the Hockenheimring when he completed all 7 laps under power, 2 races ago. In the SCRL Formula 3 Series, it's the 2nd for car #97 and the 1st for engine issues. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 3rd for the #97 and the 45th for engine issues. After trailing at the first Hockenheimring event, Blue came back for redemption as he started first in the second event and would lead all seven laps to score his first career SCRL sanctioned win.

On race day, Blue rolled off starting 18th while starting last was the #2 IZOD of Carter Joey as the green flag waved, Joey wasn't going to stay in last for long, as he knocked first Silverstone last-place finisher the #99 Target of Ryan Rush, as Rush would trail for the first lap, but the next time around, Rush had knocked Joey back to last. With the rules of F3 being that the driver who finishes last in the first race would start first in the second event, Joey was quite possibly using strategy in the race to get a good start for the second round. Joey was running in the final spot at the time on the fifth lap when Blue, who was running in 12th, began to slow going into turn 1 before stalling on track. Blue's car would be towed back to pit road as the crew looked over the car and found that the engine had blown up, with the car being retired by the 8th lap.

Finishing 22nd was second Catalunya last-place finisher the #8 BMC / Embrase / Hyundai Brazil of Elliott Rose, who suffered tire problems while running in 22nd as he pulled into the pits and then behind the wall, just as the leaders were about to start the final lap.

Rounding out the Bottom Five were: 21st was the aforementioned #2 of Carter Joey, 20th was the #19 Boy Scouts of America of Al Lagasee and 19th was the #33 Shell V-Power / Pennzoil Ultra of Mitchell Collins.

Formula 1: Tony Newman suffers a broken gearbox late in race at CTMP

Tony Newman picked up the 2nd last place finish of his SCRL Red Bull Formula One Series career in the Season 2 Canadian Grand Prix at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park when his #21 Haas F1 Team fell out with gearbox problems after completing 7 of the 8 laps.

The finish, which came in his 5th career start, was his first on the circuit since the Grand Prix of Germany at the Hockenheimring when he was involved in a multi-car crash without completing any of the 7 laps, 2 races ago. In the SCRL Red Bull Formula One Series, it's the 4th for car #21 and the 1st for gearbox issues. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 18th for the #21 and the 10th for gearbox issues. After trailing the field at Hockenheimring, Newman was looking to rebound in the next round and finished 14th at Zandvoort.

On race day, Newman rolled off 20th while starting in the final spot was the #11 Sahara Force India F1 Team of Trey Wright. As the green flag waved, Wright would remain in the final spot up until Turn 6 when he knocked the #9 Sauber F1 Team of Carter Friesen into the last spot. Friesen would remain in the final spot through the lone caution of the day and was trailing the field with two laps to go when Newman, who at this point, had moved up to 18th spot when coming off Turn 10, his car began to start smoking as Newman pulled to the inside of the track, having to limp back around the entire 2.459-mile of the track before pulling into the garage as the field took the white flag, Newman's crew discovered the gearbox had broken.

Rounding out the Bottom Five were: 21st was the aforementioned #11 of Trey Wright, 20th for the third straight race was the #19 Williams Martini Racing of Patrick Smith, 19th was the aforementioned #9 of Carter Friesen and 18th was the #5 Scuderia Ferrari of Richard Torres.

Throwback BUSCH: All time race winner Truttle gets first last-place finish of busch series career at Hickory

Truttle picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Wrangler Jeans Busch Grand National Series career in the Season 1 Mountain Dew 300 at the Hickory Speedway when his #7 unsponsored Pontiac completed all 20 laps under power.

The finish came in his 6th start. Entering Season 1 of the Busch Series, Truttle had already written his name into the SCRL history books, becoming the first ever champion, winning the title in the SCRL NASCAR Legends Series on the strength of eight wins and entering the brand new busch series, he was more then ready to make more history. In his debut for the series, Truttle finished a disappointing 35th at Daytona after being taken out in a early wreck, a finish of 41st at Richmond followed in the next round due to yet another wreck, at Bristol, Truttle was able to complete all 50 laps and finished a career best 31st, a position he would improve by finishing 8th at Martinsville before finishing 27th in the last round at Darlington.

Due to the track being unable to fit all forty two cars, the final twelve drivers competed in a ten lap LCQ(Last Chance Qualifier). Truttle rolled off 8th while the #82 unsponsored Pontiac of Aidan Shepherd. The LCQ was ran caution free and by the time the Checkered Flag flew, Truttle was trailing the field and got the first last-place finish of his busch career.

The remaining Bottom Five was: 41st was Daytona last-place finisher the #6 unsponsored Pontiac of Colin Dryburgh, 40th was the #19 Don Higgins Welding/Steve's Radiator Pontiac of Joe Jefferson, 39th was the aforementioned #82 of Aidan Shepherd and 38th was Bristol last-place finisher the #70 unsponsored Pontiac of Todd Kennedy.

Truttle would pick up two wins in Season 1 of the busch series, at Asheville and Rockingham while in Season 2 he picked up three more wins, and as of the posting of this blog, he has the most wins in the busch series, 5, and currently has the second most career wins in the entire league, 27. Truttle last competed in Season 7 of the SCRL IROC Series, where he finished 2nd in points despite not scoring a win.

Formula E: Bizarre crash on pace lap at Vancouver gives Danyal Gitirokh the 5th last place finish of his career

Danyal Gitirokh picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Formula E Series Presented by Twitter career in the Season 2 Vancouver ePrix at the Vancouver Street Circuit when his #3 Pennzoil Ultra Platinum was involved in a multi-car crash without completing any of the 13 laps.

The finish came in his 3rd career start. In the SCRL Formula E Series, it's the 3rd for car #3 and the 5th from a crash. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 15th for the #3 and the 230th from a crash. Gitirokh has been competing in the SCRL for several series over the past few years but has only found success one time in the SCRL, scoring his first and only win in the SCRL in the SCRL Icebreakers Whelen Series in the season finale at Martinsville. Gitirokh finished 12th in his FE debut at Adelaide before finishing 8th in the last round at Shanghai.

The entry list for Vancouver was bumped up from 20 cars to 22 as AJ Jones, driving for A.J. Foyt and Eli Bright, driving for Roger Penske, would both be making their Formula E Series debuts.

On race day, Gitirokh rolled off 21st while starting in the final spot was the #98 Integrity Energee Drink as the field was making their way through the final two turns, a bizarre crash happened as Gitirokh and the #12 Verizon of Karl-Jong Bensson cars got together and the two cars merged together and crashed. While at the same time a few feet further along the track, the #2 Verizon of Cameron Hathaway and the #77 Lucas Oil / Protect the Harvest of Chakat Lightingblaze also crashed themselves with all four drivers having not completed a lap.

Rounding out the Bottom Five in 18th was the #67 Hartman Oil of Blaise Zebrataur, who was the last car on the lead lap, finishing 27 seconds behind the race leaders.

Formula 2: Rookie Daniel Price trails for the first time in his career at Hungaroring

Daniel Price picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Formula 2 Series career in Round 6 at Hungaroring when his #22 BMW Sauber F1 Team completed all 10 laps under power.

The finish came in his 6th career start. In the SCRL Formula 2 Series, it's the 1st for car #22 and the 7th where the car was still running. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 12th for the #22 and the 211th where the car was still running. Price had never completed SCRL race until he made his debut in the F2's first ever race at Silverstone, where he finished 7th and 3rd and in the next round at Spa, he would finish 9th and 8th before finishing 15th in the last round at Hungaroring.

On race day, Price would roll off starting 15th while starting last was first Hungaroring last-place finisher the #11 Renault F1 Team of Muhammad Zain Abdullah. When the green flag came out, Abdullah would get a slow start and would trail for the first lap but by the time the field had gotten to Turn 5, Price had slide off track some and fallen back to last as the driver tried to get back onto the track. Price would trail his first lap on the second lap and as much as he tried to gain any ground over the final eight laps, it wasn't enough, as Price finished 34 seconds behind the race leaders.

Rounding out the Bottom Five were: 20th was the aforementioned #11 of Muhammad Zain Abdullah, 19th was the HRT F1 Team of Tanner Bell, 18th was second Silverstone last-place finisher the #6 Red Bull Racing of Mark Owens and 17th was the #3 Mercedes GP Petronas F1 Team of Jack Canaramo.

Formula 2: Tire problems at Hungaroring give Muhammad Zain Abdullah the 2nd last-place finish of his career

Muhammad Zain Abdullah picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Formula 2 Series career in Round 5 at Hungaroring when his #11 Renault F1 Team completed all 10 laps under power.

The finish came in his 5th career start. In the SCRL Formula 2 Series, it's the 1st for car #11 and the 6th where the car was still running. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 10th for the #11 and the 210th where the car was still running. Abdullah is a veteran when it comes to completing in the SCRL but had only found limited success, scoring one career win, that coming in Season 4 of the SCRL NASCAR Legends Series at Richmond. Abdullah's Formula career started off with a 4th and 7th at Silverstone before scoring his 2nd career win in the series first ever race at Spa. In Round 4, Abdullah started 8th due to the rules that the Formula 2 division followed, and worked his way up through the field, taking the lead from Marko Tellez in Turn 8 and becoming the first driver to not only win twice in the series, but to win back-to-back races.

The entry list for the first time in the Formula 2 division was bumped up from 20 cars to 21 as Cole Nixey would be making his Formula 2 Series debuting, driving for BMW Sauber F1 Team.

On race day, Abdullah would roll off starting 18th while starting last was the #22 BMW Sauber F1 Team of Daniel Price. As the green flag waved, price was determined not to trail the field for the first time in his career, as he quickly knocked second Spa last-place finisher the #4 Mercedes GP Petronas F1 Team of Mike Pearson into the final spot. Pearson would trail for the first three laps when Abdullah, who had worked his way up to 15th, began to slow in Turns 5 and 6, coasting back to the pits as the field drove past him. Abdullah's crew would put four fresh tires on the car and sent their driver back out on track, their only hope of gaining any spots would be if another driver had problems, it wouldn't happened, as Abdullah would finish over a full minute behind the race leaders.

Rounding out the Bottom Five were: 20th was the #18 Lotus F1 Racing of Chakat Whitelion, 19th was the #8 Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro of Tracey Dent, 18th was the aforementioned #4 of Jason Larker and 17th was the #3 Mercedes GP Petronas F1 Team of Jack Canaramo.
