Formula 2: Mark Owens last in Round 2 at Silverstone

Mark Owens picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Formula 2 Series career in Round 2 at the Silverstone Circuit when his #6 Red Bull Racing completed all 5 laps under power.

The finish came in his 2nd career start. In the SCRL Formula 2 Series, it's the 1st for car #6 and the 2nd where the car was still running. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 15th for the #6 and the 203rd where the car was still running. Owen had some brief experience racing across the pond having competed in the SCRL Sun Energy Whelen Euro Elite Series and was looking to find some in the newest Formula Series, starting off his career by finishing 10th in Round 1.

On race day, Owens would roll off starting 10th while starting last was Round 1 Silverstone last-place finisher the #2 Vodafone McLaren Mercedes of Leonard Pearson. Pearson would trail the field for the first lap before he knocked the #3 Mercedes GP Petronas F1 Team of Jack Canaramo into the field spot. As the field made its way onto the final lap, Owens would lose control in Turn 3 and spun off course, allowing for every other driver to pass him, with Owens falling eighteen seconds behind the race leaders when the checkered flag was flown.

Rounding out the Bottom Five were: 19th the #15 Force India F1 Team of Chakat Duskwatcher, 18th the aforementioned #3 of Jack Canaramo, 17th was the aforementioned #2 of Leonard Pearson and 16th was the #16 Scuderia Toro Rosso of Hennrietta Fitzwater.
