Throwback TRUCK: Rookie Jack Decker picks up the lone last-place finish of his career at Portland

Jack Decker picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Rainbow Dash Truck Series career in the Season 1 Maxx Race Cards 200 at the Portland Speedway when his #28 NAPA / United Brake Systems Ford completed all 10 laps in the LCQ.

The finish came in his 5th career series start. Decker was one of several rookies looking to make a name for himself in the SCRL's third highest divison by competing in the truck series. Decker's career started off with a 20th at Phoenix, 35th at Tucson, 31st at Saugus before finishing 34th in the last round at Mesa Marin.

With the track only able to fit 34 trucks, the last three in points would be forced to battle it out for the last two spots. On race day, Decker would roll off the field in 2nd place in the LCQ while starting last was the the #2 Ultra Custom Wheels / ASE  Ford of Josh Barker, as the field began their pace lap, Decker's truck stalled in Turn 1 and would be towed back to the pits as the field took the green flag. Decker's team discovered the problem was just a flat left rear tire, and gave their driver four fresh ones to try and catch back up, but by this point he was already two laps down, and due to there being only three trucks, no other problems would happen, and Decker finished two laps down, failing to advance.

Finishing 35th was the #20 Walker Evans Racing Dodge of Aidan Shepherd, who was taken out in a Lap 2 crash after being turned into the outside wall, hitting it head on. 34th was the #16 Papa John's Pizza Chevrolet of Morgan McPherson, who hit Tucson last-place finisher the #43 Snapper Power Equipment of Josh Nixey in the driver's door, ending McPherson's day.

The remaining Bottom Five would finish a lap down to the race leaders; 33rd was the #24 DuPont Automotive Finishes Chevrolet of John Arndt and 32nd was the #31 Performance Race Cars Chevrolet of Truttle.

Decker would never officially visit victory lane in the SCRL, but he would score a LCQ win in the trucks series later in the season at I-70 Speedway. Decker's best finish officially in the truck series would be a 3rd in the season finale at Phoenix, and would finish 27th in the final point standings.
