The finish, which came in his 10th career start, was his first on the circuit since Round 7 at Circuit de Catalunya when he completed 7 of the 8 laps under power, 2 races ago. In the SCRL Formula 2 Series, it's the 3rd for car #25 and the 1st for header issues. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 13th for the #25 and the 18th for header issues. After trailing the field at Catalunya, Wycombe and his team looked to change their season around in the 9th round and did just that, finishing a series best 2nd.
On race day, Wycombe rolled off starting 7th while starting last was two time last-place finisher the #4 Mercedes GP Petronas F1 Team of Jason Larker, a position he would hold for only a few seconds as entering Turn 1, the #9 AT&T Williams of Celious Wolf was spun out by the #23 BMW Sauber F1 Team of Cole Nixey, bringing out the race's first caution as Wolf would trail the field for the first lap. When the green flag came back out on Lap 6, once again just as the field entered Turn 1, Wycombe, who had fallen back to 8th, began to slow entering Turn 1 before the car started to smoke, with Wycombe's car stalling on track, bringing out the second and final caution of the day. Wycombe's car would be towed back to the garage with the cause of the problem being a broken header.
Rounding out the Bottom Five were: 18th was the #3 Mercedes GP Petronas F1 Team of Jack Canaramo, 19th was the aforementioned #9 of Celious Wolf, 18th was the aforementioned #4 of Jason Larker and 17th was the #23 of Cole Nixey.
