LEGENDS: Big crash at Texas World gives Muhammad Zain Abdullah the first last-place finish of his career; Cole Nixey wins the Season 4 SCRLASTCAR Championship

Muhammad Zain Abdullah picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL NASCAR Legends Series career in the Season 4 Texas 500 at the Texas World Speedway when his #11 Don Wagner Ford Sales Ford was involved in a multi-car crash after 2 of the 25 laps.

The finish came in his 27th start. In the SCRL NASCAR Legends Series, it's the 1st for car #11 and the 27th from a crash. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 9th for the #11 and the 225th from a crash.

Abdullah has competed in several series in the SCRL, but had never completed a lap in the SCRL NASCAR Legend Series as well as never scoring a win in the entire league. Abdullah finished 23rd in his debut at Riverside before finishing 8th in the next race at Ontario before leading 22 of the 50 laps of the Richmond 500 at the Richmond Fairgrounds Raceway for his first career win. Over the next seven races Abdullah would finish 6th at the spring Martinsville, before finishing 13th at the spring Michigan race and a 8th in the mid-season Riverside event. Abdullah would struggle over the next four races before scoring back-to-back 9th places at the fall Michigan and Talladega races, which would be the last Top 10's he would get in the season as he could only score a best finish of 13th at Darlington and would be knocked out in a late crash and finish 32nd in the last round at Rockingham.

Abdullah and McKayson go for a wild ride.
On race day, Abdullah rolled off starting 41st while starting off in the final spot was the #4 Mills Plumbing Dodge of Mitchell Collins, a spot that he would hold the first two turns as Abdullah would drop back to last for the first lap, but the very next lap Abdullah had knocked spring Bristol last-place finisher the #09 unsponsored Chevrolet of Paul Hogan, a spot he would hold going into Turn 1 Abdullah would make contact with the #21 60 Minute Cleaners Mercury Cyclone of Bryan McKayson as both cars would slide up the track and backed into the wall, sending both cars up into the air as McKayson would flip several times, while Abdullah coasted back around the track and onto the frontstretch trying to get back to the garage, misjudging and slammed into the pit road wall, completely destroying the front end of his car, while McKayson would be scored just in front of Abdullah.

Rounding of the Bottom Five were drivers who also were involved in the same crash; 40th was the #28 Piper Trash Can Liners Dodge of Jack Lagasee, 39th was the #71 K & K Insurance Dodge of Sylas Nixey who also competed two laps while finishing 38th was the #45 unsponsored Ford of Riley Spurlytube, who was able to limp around for another lap to be scored 38th.

Due to Abdullah finishing last, that gave Season 3 Champion Cole Nixey the Season 4 SCRLASTCAR NASCAR Legends Series Driver's Championship on the strength of three last-place finishes over the season.

Finishing 8th in the race was Christian Russell, who won the SCRL NASCAR Legends Series Championship, scored no last-place finishes during the season and scored only One Bottom Five finish during the season, that being at the Wilkes 400 at the North Wilkesboro Speedway. Congratulations to the entire #19 team on a successful season.
