LEGENDS: Early crash gives rookie Dilan Ebrahimian first last-place finish of his career at Martinsville

Dilan Ebrahimian picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL NASCAR Legends Series career in the Season 4 Virginia 500 at the Martinsville Speedway when his #75 Kentucky Fried Chicken Special Plymouth was involved in a multi-car crash after 4 of 50 laps.

The finish came in his 11th start. In the SCRL NASCAR Legends Series, it's the 1st for car #75 and the 18th from a crash. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 5th for the #75 and the 216th from a crash.

Ebrahimian had never competed in a single SCRL race prior to complete in the NASCAR Legends but was looking to make a quick first impression in his first race and did just that, after starting on the pole at Riverside, the rookie would lead for ten of the 19 laps, only to be passed on the final turn by Sammy Sabre Jr. and scored a runner up finish. Over the next two events the team would struggle, finishing 36th at Ontario and a 33rd at Richmond before rebounding with a strong 4th at Rockingham. However the team would once again continue to struggle, finishing 21st at Atlanta, 34th at Bristol, 40th at Talladega before scoring two back-to-back Top 20 finishes, a 13th at North Wilkesboro and a 12th at Darlington before finishing 40th for the second time this season in the last round at Charlotte.

On race day, Ebrahimian rolled off starting in 21st while starting last was Rockingham last-place finisher the #07 Cunningham-Kelley Chevrolet of Bob Joseph, a spot that Joseph would hold for the first five laps as the driver struggled with the handling of his car before catching and passing the #71 K & K Insurance Dodge of Sylas Nixey. Nixey would only trail the final spot for one lap when he knocked Talladega last-place finisher the #27 unsponsored Ford of Cole Nixey into the final spot, a position he would hold for less then half a lap when chaos broke out in Turns 3 and 4 that would end the battle for last.

While battling for 23rd, Darlington last-place finisher the #43 Plymouth By Petty Plymouth of Oreius Centaur made contact with the #3 Moss-Thornton Dodge, sending Oreius for a spin right in front of the path of the the #12 Coca-Cola Dodge of Samet Ozkan, causing a chain reaction as ten cars would be involved. Ebrahimian would be one of those cars, slamming hard into the back of the #32 Bestline Products Plymouth of Derrick Edison while Ebrahimian was also hit from behind by the #04 unsponsored Dodge of Chakat Whitelion, completing destorying Ebrahiman's car as he pulled into the garage his day done, while two laps later Bristol last-place finisher the #09 unsponsored Chevrolet of Paul Hogan, who had hit Oreius and destroyed his front end, pulled into the garage just before the race went back to green, being scored having completed 6 laps.

Finishing 40th was Ozkan, who would be involved in yet another crash and pulled in just twenty laps from the finish, followed two laps later by Riverside last-place finisher the #72 DeWitt Enterprises Mercury of Nathan Ormond, who also had been involved in the Turn 3 crash.

Rounding out the Bottom Five was the #6 unsponsored Dodge of Adam McDowell, who finished three laps down to the race leaders under power despite being involved in all three cautions that would fly during the day.
