Throwback BUSCH: All time race winner Truttle gets first last-place finish of busch series career at Hickory

Truttle picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Wrangler Jeans Busch Grand National Series career in the Season 1 Mountain Dew 300 at the Hickory Speedway when his #7 unsponsored Pontiac completed all 20 laps under power.

The finish came in his 6th start. Entering Season 1 of the Busch Series, Truttle had already written his name into the SCRL history books, becoming the first ever champion, winning the title in the SCRL NASCAR Legends Series on the strength of eight wins and entering the brand new busch series, he was more then ready to make more history. In his debut for the series, Truttle finished a disappointing 35th at Daytona after being taken out in a early wreck, a finish of 41st at Richmond followed in the next round due to yet another wreck, at Bristol, Truttle was able to complete all 50 laps and finished a career best 31st, a position he would improve by finishing 8th at Martinsville before finishing 27th in the last round at Darlington.

Due to the track being unable to fit all forty two cars, the final twelve drivers competed in a ten lap LCQ(Last Chance Qualifier). Truttle rolled off 8th while the #82 unsponsored Pontiac of Aidan Shepherd. The LCQ was ran caution free and by the time the Checkered Flag flew, Truttle was trailing the field and got the first last-place finish of his busch career.

The remaining Bottom Five was: 41st was Daytona last-place finisher the #6 unsponsored Pontiac of Colin Dryburgh, 40th was the #19 Don Higgins Welding/Steve's Radiator Pontiac of Joe Jefferson, 39th was the aforementioned #82 of Aidan Shepherd and 38th was Bristol last-place finisher the #70 unsponsored Pontiac of Todd Kennedy.

Truttle would pick up two wins in Season 1 of the busch series, at Asheville and Rockingham while in Season 2 he picked up three more wins, and as of the posting of this blog, he has the most wins in the busch series, 5, and currently has the second most career wins in the entire league, 27. Truttle last competed in Season 7 of the SCRL IROC Series, where he finished 2nd in points despite not scoring a win.
