Formula 3: Crash on pace lap at Silverstone gives Ryan Rush the 3rd last-place finish of his career

Ryan Rush picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Formula 3 Series career in Round 3 at the Silverstone Circuit when his #99 Target completed all 9 laps under power.

The finish came in his 3rd career start. In the SCRL Formula 3 Series, it's the 1st for car #99 and the 3rd where the car was still running. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 13th for the #99 and the 205th where the car was still running. Rush had been competing in several series over the past few years in the SCRL, finding victory lane only once in his career, in the SCRL CatDog Pro Series East at the New Jersey Motorsports Park. Rush finished 11th in his debut at Catalunya and would back it up by finishing 10th in Round 2 at Catalunya.

On race day, Rush would roll off starting 21st while starting last was the #12 Verizon of Dilian Ebrahimian, but as soon as the field began their pace lap, Rush made contact with first Catalunya last-place finisher the #26 RC Cola of DJ Dogo, sending Rush for a spin, damaging the rear wing of Rush's cars. At the drop of the green flag, Ebrahimian would quickly move up past the damaged car of Rush and would drive up the field to eventually finish 6th, with Rush would struggle to get a handle of his car due to the damaged wing, falling more then forty seconds behind the race leaders and would easily score the 3rd last-place finish of his career.

Rounding out the Bottom Five were: 22nd the #97 Advance Auto Parts of Damian Blue, 21st the McAfee / Bing of Jacob Rose, 20th was the aforementioned #96 of DJ Dogo and 19th was the #28 DHL / Sun Drop Citrus Soda of Zachary Billson.
