Colin Dryburgh picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Lucas Oil ARCA Racing Series career in the Season 1 Shop n' Save 150 at the Gateway International Raceway when his unsponsored #6 Eddie Sharp Racing Chevrolet fell out with tire problems after completing 2 of the 40 laps.
The finish came in his 5th career start.
Dryburgh by this point in his career had already found success in the SCRL and was looking to bring that over to the ARCA Series. Dryburgh led 1 lap and would finish 5th in his ARCA debut at Daytona, 7th at Atlanta, 17th at Charlotte before finishing 36th in the last round at Talladega.
On race day, Dryburgh would roll off 27th while starting last was the #44 Ansell / Menards Toyota of Josh Barker a spot he would hold for the first two turns when chaos broke out rather quickly as the #10 Milwaukee Crusher Co. / Double H Ranch Chevrolet of Don Benson was spun out by the #52 Federated Auto Parts Toyota of Aidan Shepherd, spinning Benson out in front of the field, amazingly everyone was able to avoid, while further up the track, Shepherd himself was spun out by the #11 Syngenta Ford of Todd Kennedy, spinning Shepherd out in front of the field as he wasn't so lucky as Shepherd's car would be damaged after being hit by the unsponsored #68 Kimmel Racing Ford of Ford of Nick Kennedy.
As the field drove around the one mile track under caution, Dryburgh's car began to slow and pulled to the apron and then the access road and onto pit road before pulling into his stall, as the team looked over the car and found that the tires had already been worn out after only two laps, and due to the team's lack of funds, were only able to afford a limited amount of tires, and with Kentucky only a few days later, the team decided to park the car and prepare the car for the next event, as Dryburgh would be the only retiree of the event.
Finishing 39th was the aforementioned #68 of Nick Kennedy, who had received damage during the first caution and while the team was able to repair most of the damage, the car lacked in power, and would lose two laps to the race leaders by the time the checkered flag was flown.
The remaining Bottom Five would finish on the same circuit as the race leaders: 38th was the aforementioned #52 of Aidan Shepherd, 37th was the #11 of Todd Kennedy and finishing 36th was Atlanta last-place finisher the #09 Hudson Performance Drivelines Dodge of Richard Torres.
Dryburgh would never score a win in the ARCA Series, but he would in the SCRL ARCA Truck Series, scoring a win at Toledo and would score his first ever championship in the SCRL. Overall, Dryburgh has one championship and has visited victory lane 19 times in his SCRL career and still competes in the SCRL.
