East: Early Big One gives Sebastian Torres first last place finish at Talladega

Sebastian Torres picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL CatDog Pro Series East career in today's Alabama 250 at the Talladega Superspeedway when his #2 UTI / NASCAR Technical Institute Toyota was involved in a multi-car accident after 1 of the 19 laps.

The finish came in Torres's 9th career series start. Coming into the East Series, Sebastian Torres is one of the successful drivers in the SCRL with three championships and one of only nine drivers with more then ten wins. However coming into Talladega he had yet to score a win, a Top 5 or even a Top 10 which places him way down in the championship points.

Starting last on the field was the #07 Sims Metal Management Ford of Nick Kennedy who trailed the field earlier in the season at Nazareth but his stay in the back lasted through the pace lap as the #22 Oakley / Bruster's Ice Cream Dodge of Cam Nixey pulled onto pit road with the pace car and it appeared for the second race in a row a driver would not complete a lap after the #47 PMC / Health Bridge Imagining Toyota of Tim Randolph trailed the field at Richmond, one round ago. The team however reported the driver only had a flat tire and the team put four new fresh tires and sent Nixey back out onto the track around the same time chaos would break out.

First  the #73 Celtic Waste Dodge of James Stabilito was spun out by the #18 Coca-Cola / Toyota Toyota driven by Marcus Saatchi on the backstretch. While coming up the track, Saatchi had no time to slow down and with that a big wreck would break out resulting in a twenty cars being involved. As the smoke settled and the red flag was thrown, Turns 3 and 4 was a junkyard as Torres would limp has car back around and into the garage, done for the day and was scored last due to his pit stall being the farthest back.

Rounding out the bottom five were drivers who were also involved in the wreck; Bristol last place finisher the #20 Rockstar / Royal Purple Toyota of Gustavo Arocha, the #9 Aaron's / HendrickCars.com Chevrolet of Jack Lagasse, the #8 Sign Innovations Toyota driven by Kyle Hunter and the #39 Generation Rescue Chevrolet of Eli Bright.
