EAST: Gustavo Arocha last in wreckfest at Bristol

Gustavo Arocha picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL CatDog Pro Series East career in today's Widow Wax 125 Pres. by SealWrap Repair Tape at the Bristol Motor Speedway when his #20 Rockstar / Royal Purple Toyota was involved in a multi-car accident after 1 of the 52 laps.

The finish came in his 2nd career series start.

Gustavo Arocha had made his league and series debut at Daytona earlier in the week, finishing 29th in a field of 36. Coming into Bristol, Arocha was looking to turn around his luck.

Starting last on the field was the #7 Woods Towing & Transportation Toyota driven by Evan Hunter but as the field rolled off pitroad, Chris Kyle driving the #98 Curb Records / Celebrity Fight Night Chevrolet failed to start as his car was towed to his stall as it appeared Kyle would suffer his first last place finish in the series. But as faith would have it, Kyle's problems was merely a flat tire and his crew would give him four fresh ones, around the same time in Turns 3 and 4, chaos would break out.

A ten car pileup would break out as Bristol's banking led to drivers sliding and crashing as Arocha would be the first scored 35th, his car too damaged to continue and the first official car out of the race. With Chris Kyle back out on the track, it wasn't until the fifth lap that he was able to knock Arocha into the final spot as the rest of the bottom five were filled out before Lap 8.

Jay Jefferson, driving the #10 Widow Wax / SealWrap Heavy Duty Toyota would also retire on the first lap followed by the #15 Bienvenidos a NASCAR / Mayor Cars Toyota of Rodriguez Zapatos and the #4 Toyota Racing Development Toyota of Brian Fox on the second lap. The #26 American Mountain Rentals / Amtrol Toyota of Cole Nixey would round out the bottom five, being taken out in another multi-car crash on the seventh lap.

Chris Kyle would go on to get two of his three laps back due to all the wrecks before he too was wrapped up in a multi-car wreck on the 42nd lap, but would finish 12th in the final rundown.
