The finish came in Fox's 11th career series start. Coming into the East Series, Toby Fox had yet to make a mark in the SCRL, having not been as successful as the other Fox members, Brian and Simon, but had no relation to them. Coming into Greenville, Toby had a somewhat successful season as he had several top fives and top ten's, resulting in him being in the Top 5 in points.
On race day, Toby Fox would start 12th while starting last on the field was the #50 Bank Street Cafe Chevrolet of Marcos Alejandro but as the field rolled off pitroad, Toby's car began to smoke as he quickly pulled into the garage, his day over before the race even started while at the same time Darlington last place finisher the #70 Viva La Raza Racing Toyota of Zapatos Amarrados also stayed on pitroad and it appeared for the second time this season two drivers would trail the field without completing a lap. Amarrados's team however reported that the car had only a flat tire and by Lap 2 he was back out on the track and dropped Toby down to last by Lap 3.
Rounding out the bottom five were drivers who were all involved in wrecks throughout the race; the #0 Viva La Raza Racing Toyota of Alexander Rowe taken out on a Lap 13 wreck, the aforementioned #4 Toyota Racing Development Toyota of Brian Fox who ran into the back of another car on the 27th lap. Rounding out the bottom two was the #32 Van Dyk Baler / Bollegraaf Chevrolet of Kevin McHugh and the #49 Eneos Motor Oil Toyota of Al Lagasse taken out on a Lap 34 wreck.
