East: Nick Kennedy involved in early crash and finished last at Nazareth

Nick Kennedy picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL CatDog Pro Series East career in today's Nazareth 100 at the Nazareth Speedway when his #07 Sims Metal Management Ford was involved in a multi-car accident after 3 of the 22 laps.

The finish came in his 4th career start.

Coming into the East Series, Kennedy had already made a name for himself in the SCRL(Stock Car Racing League) by collecting 10 wins in four different series as well as winning the Formula 1 championship on the strength of winning three races in a row to close the season.

Starting last on the field was the #32 Van Dyk Baler / Bollegraaf Chevrolet of Kevin McHugh but his stay in last would only last during the pace laps as the #4 Toyota Racing Development Toyota of Brian Fox would drive onto pit road, reporting of a flat tire and by the time his crew finished the stop, the field had completed the first lap and Fox came back out on the track making it three wide going into Turn 3.

Brian Fox would make contact with the #46 Aquis Communications / ComServe Dodge of Sammy Sabre Jr. who was the points leader entering Nazareth. Both cars slid up the track collecting South Boston last place finisher the #47 PMC / Health Bridge Imaging Toyota driven by Tim Randolph as a five car wreck would break out with more cars being involved with Kennedy having nowhere to go and slammed into Fox's car and ending Kennedy's day.

Rounding out the bottom five was #62 Octane / SavannahPawn.com Chevrolet driven by rookie Ryan Rush, the #8 Sign Innovations Toyota driven by Kyle Hunter, the #6 Toyota Racing Development Toyota driven by Simon Fox and the #26 American Mountain Rentals / Amtrol Toyota of Cole Nixey, all taken out in a multi-car crash on the eigth lap.
