Simon Fox picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL CatDog Pro Series East career in today's JustDrive.com 125 at the New Jersey Motorsports Park when his #6 Toyota Racing Development Toyota completed all of the 8 laps.
The finish came in Fox's 10th career series start. Coming into the East Series, Fox is part of one of the most dominating stable in the SCRL history along with Sebastian Torres and his brother Brian. Together the trio has 5 championships and 25 wins over a span of five years in SCRL competition and once the news broke the East and West division was coming out, all three jumped to the East series, competing against each other and star studded fields.
Simon's debut at Daytona was uneventful with a 24th place finish and a 6th at Bristol one race later was his high point until the series made it's debut at Darlington, where Fox led every single lap to score his first East win. Two rounds later Fox pick up win #2 at Richmond and a finish of 13th at Talladega set Fox 6th in points.
Simon Fox would lead the field to the green as starting last on the field was the #31 Integrated Metal Products Toyota of Maria Valera as she would trail the field for the first two turns before the #50 Bank Street Cafe of Marcos Alejandro would be spun out, bringing out the one and only caution as he would trail the field for the first and second laps. As the field was making it way back to get back to racing, the #6 of Simon Fox make a sharp turn to the right into the pits reporting of a flat left front tire, handing the lead over to the #62 Octane / SavannahPawn.com Chevrolet driven by rookie Ryan Rush. Due to no further cautions coming out, Fox was unable to catch back up as he would seal up last place.
Rounding out the bottom five were drivers who all finished under power; #39 Generation Rescue Chevrolet of Eli Bright, the aforementioned #31 of Maria Valera, the #15 Bienvenidos a NASCAR / Mayor Cars Toyota of Rodriguez Zapatos and the #26 American Mountain Rentals / Amtrol Toyota of Cole Nixey.
