Throwback ARCA: Multi-car crash on first lap at Iowa gives John Arndt his second and final last-place finish of his ARCA career

John Arndt picked up the 2nd last place finish of his SCRL Lucas Oil ARCA Racing Series career in the Season 1 Prairie Meadows 200 at the Iowa Speedway when his #66 Phoenix Air Toyota was involved in a multi-car crash after 1 of the 25 laps.

The finish, which came in his 11th career start, was his first on the circuit since the Pocono ARCA 200 at the Pocono Raceway when he fell out with piston problems without completing any of the 9 laps; 4 races ago.

After trailing the field earlier in the season at Pocono, Arndt was looking to rebound in the next few races but would only find more trouble, finishing 38th at Michigan, 18th at Texas before finishing 20th in the last round at the twisting NJMP road course.

On race day, Arndt rolled off starting 36th while starting in the final spot was the #12 The Cove / Dolphins Awareness Dodge of Kelly Lee, a position she would hold for the first two turns before the battle for last quickly ended. Exiting Turn 2 three wide with the #99 Roulo Brothers Racing Ford of Eric Wayne and the #16 Strutmasters.com Chevrolet of Evan Rudd, Arndt and Wayne made contact, sending all three cars going for a light spin as the rest of the field avoided them. As the cars fired back up and drove around to the frontstretch, Arndt was unable to slow down in time as he slammed into the spun out car of Rudd once again, this time with enough force that Arndt's day was done.

Finishing 40th was the #1 ModSpace Ford of Grayson Acevedo, who would be involved in the second crash on the frontstretch and would be placed 40th in the final rundown.

It would be four laps later that two more spots would be filled with 39th going to the aforementioned #12 of Kelly Lee and 38th going to the unsponsored #58 CGH Motorsports Chevrolet of Jesse Turner would be involved in the event's second caution on the backstretch.

Rounding out the Bottom Five in 37th was the #23 Allegiant Air Chevrolet of Cassie Waz, who would also be caught up in another crash just five laps later.

Arndt would never find victory lane in ARCA's highest division, scoring a best finish of 8th at the Milwaukee Mile and would go on to finish 33rd in the final point standings. Arndt would later go on and score 2 SCRL sanctioned wins, at Kyalami in Season 1 of the SCRL Red Bull Formula One Series and in Season 2 of the SCRL Wrangler Jeans Busch Grand National Series at Charlotte.

Throwback TRUCKS: Long time veteran Bulldog67 picks up first truck series last place finish after early camshaft problems at Colorado

Bulldog67 picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Rainbow Dash Truck Series career in the Season 1 Total Petroleum 200 at the Colorado National Speedway when his unsponsored #58 Wayne Jacks Racing Chevrolet fell out with camshaft problems after completing 8 of the 25 laps.

The finish came in his 11th career series start.

At this point in his SCRL career, Bulldog67 had already proven himself, having finished second to Truttle in Season 1 of the then ONL NASCAR Legends Series, before winning the championship himself in Season 2, and was looking to transfer that same success over to the truck series as he signed up to complete on a part-time schedule, running only the big events and bypassing the short tracks. Bulldog67 finished 38th in his debut at Phoenix before finishing 11th at Tucson. Bulldog67 would sit out the next six races before returning at Bristol, where he finished 13th before finishing 34th in the last race at Milwaukee.

On race day, Bulldog67 would start 31st while starting last was the #87 Delco Remy America Chevrolet of Colin Dryburgh. The first five laps around the track would be intense as drivers battled back and forth for position, but on Lap 2 the #94 MAC Tools Ford of Jesse Turner made an unscheduled pit stop, reporting of problems with the engine, with the team looking it over and finding out they were done a cylinder. With orders to go back out and protect the truck as much as possible, Turner was sent back out on the track and told to ride around at half speed. During this time, the first caution would come out, and during that time, Bulldog67, would also find trouble, pulling into the pits and then the truck was listed as "out" just before the race went back green, a broken camshaft the reason the truck was pulled behind the wall.

Finishing 39th was the #74 Mesa Marin Raceway Chevrolet of HIPHOPANOUNMOUS, who would be involved in the event's third caution when him and the #87 of Colin Dryburgh would spin out and hit the pit road wall with the passenger side of their trucks. HIPHOP would be done for the day on that very lap, but Dryburgh was able to limp around for two more laps before pulling in himself, taking 38th.

The remaining Bottom Five would finish four laps down to the race leaders: 37th was the unsponsored #54 McEachern Racing Chevrolet of Jonathan King and 36th was the aforementioned #94 of Jesse Turner.

SNOWBALL DERBY: Engine failure for Christian Vargas makes him first driver to trail the field in the Snowball Derby

Christian Vargas picked up the 1st last place finish of his career in Sunday's SCRL Snowball Derby at the Five Flags Speedway when his unsponsored #100 Chevrolet fell out with engine issues after completing 46 of the 300 laps.

For the first time in the six year history of the SCRL, it was decided by the SCRL officials that it would host the first ever SCRL Snowball Derby at the historic Five Flags Speedway. The Snowball Derby is a 300-lap super late model stock car race that is held annually at the Five Flags Speedway, a half-mile paved oval track in Pensacola, Florida, United States. After the qualifying and the Snowflake 100 was held on Saturday, the 31 car field was set for the Main Event on Sunday.

In Qualifying, Nick Kennedy would write his name in the SCRL history books by winning the pole with a time of 23.060 while Vargas would easily lock himself into the field as well with a time of 23.420, 0.360 seconds off Kennedy's pole winning time, which placed Vargas 8th. After the qualifying race was complete, starting last on the field would be the #112 ARP Chevrolet of Daniel Bouchard, who would lock himself into the field by taking the final transfer spot.

On race day, Bouchard would trail for only the first two turns before he would knock the #34 Sears, Sand and Gravel Toyota of Stephen White, who would trail for the first lap around the half mile track before he would make a move down the backstretch, knocking the #12 Dex Imaging Toyota of Ronald House, who would trail for the next two laps, before he knocked the #36 Larve Industries Toyota of Austin Hiller into last on Lap 4. Hiller would also trail for two laps before he would knock the #9 Aaron's Ford of Brad Michalec who would fall back to last on Lap 6. The next time around it was the #20 Duke's Mayonnaise / Kroger Ford of Derek Greene who would trail for the next four laps until he finally was able to get a run and knocked the Hiller into last on Lap 11.

Hiller would trail for the next four laps before knocking the #10 Beaulac Trucking / Groupe EDS Chevrolet of Clay Myers, who would assume last on Lap 16 and would trail for two laps until Lap 19 when Greene took the final spot back. Greene would remain in last for three laps before knocking Myers back into last on Lap 22. Myers would remain in last himself for the next three laps when he knocked Hiller into last on Lap 26, who would remain in last for three laps before knocking the #35 Dick's Last Resort Chevrolet of Brian Fields into last on Lap 30. Fields would be in last for only two laps before Hiller would retake the final spot on Lap 32, as he would struggle over the next ten laps to gain any spots around the abrasive Pensacola track surface.

On Lap 42, Vargas, who had fallen back to 14th place, was racing down the frontstretch when his car started to smoke as Vargas pulled his car to the top of the track to try and allow the other drivers to move around him, but the #99 TM Ranch / Car Crushers, Inc. Ford of Winnie Calhoun slammed into Vargas's stalled car, as well as the #21 Eastern Shore Toyota of Roger James would also run into Vargas's car, bringing out the race's first caution. Vargas's car would be forced to be towed back to the garage as the team looked over his car to see if the problem could be fixed, but it was decided the problem was terminal, the car being listed as "out" on Lap 50.

The next two spots would by filled up fourteen laps later when the race's second caution would fly for a three car wreck in Turn 1 when the #11 TM Ranch Chevrolet of Chad Myers was hit by the #63 Everidge Motor Sales Chevrolet of Sun Mao Keys, sending Myers up the track and into the #7 Graham Trucking Ford of Jake Thomas, sending both cars up the track and nearly head on into the concrete wall, before sliding the track right in front of the path of the #01 Clarence Steakhouse Chevrolet of David Haas, who slammed right into Thomas's front half of his car. Myers was able to continue on with no problems, while Thomas and Haas would limp back around before pulling behind the wall, their night done after 62 laps.

Finishing 28th was the unsponsored #59 Chevrolet of Tyler Ferris, who had led 6 laps earlier in the day, lost the lead to engine problems and was limping around the track one lap behind the leaders, when on Lap 194, Ferris would suffer more mechanical problems as Ferris would stall in Turn 2 bringing out the race's 5th caution. Ferris's car would be towed back to the garage as the team would look it over and found that this time the damage would be terminal, with the official cause being listed as a broken valve.

Rounding out the Bottom Five was the #63 Everidge Motor Sales Chevrolet of Sun Mao Keys, who would suffer tire problems late in the race and would trail by two full circuits when the checkered flag waved.

Taking the checkered flag on the historic night would be Daniel Bouchard, who worked his way from last to first in 97 laps and would go on to lead 201 of the event's 300 laps and scored a dominating win over Snowflake 100 winner Ryan Pritchard.

SNOWFLAKE: Early crash in the Snowflake 100 prevents Casey Russel from transferring into the Snowball Derby

Casey Russel picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Snowflake career in the Snowflake 100 at the Five Flags Speedway when his #05 Joyner Traffic Engineers was involved in a multi-truck crash after 4 of the 30 laps.

For the first time in the six year history of the SCRL, it was decided by the SCRL officials that it would host the first ever SCRL Snowball Derby at the historic Five Flags Speedway. For those not familiar with the event, the Snowball Derby is a 300-lap super late model stock car race that is held annually at the Five Flags Speedway, a half-mile paved oval track in Pensacola, Florida, United States. The event had never come across the SCRL until early 2020 when league driver AJ Jones suggested the offer of running another event, that being the first ever SCRL Chili Bowl event that will be coming in January. The talks would soon move over to holding another event, that being the Snowball Derby, and unlike many other leagues who do a version of the event, the SCRL decided that if they were going to hold it, it would be done right, and so the distance of the race would be the full 300 lap event.

A league record 50 drivers signed up for a chance to compete in the first ever event, with Casey Russel being one of them, looking to write their name in the SCRL history books. The rules of the event stated that in qualifying the first 20 drivers would automatically lock themselves into the main event, while the remaining 30 drivers would battle in a qualifying race, known as the Snowflake 100, with the top 11 transferring to the main event. Casey would struggle in qualifying, posting the slowest time, a 37.312, 14 seconds behind Nick Kennedy's pole winning time, after Casey had actually spun out on the backstretch during her attempt, with her chance of making the field being only to come from the back and make it inside the Top 11 in the 30 lap qualifying event.

When the race started, Casey would quickly make a move as she knocked the #18 NOS Energy Drink Toyota of Dalton Holmes into the final spot after the first lap while the next lap Holmes would knock the #58 Hebert Excavation Chevrolet of Cody Russell Jr. into last on the second circuit. Russell would remain in last for only one circuit as well as the next time around he would knock the #25 Bondy's Scon Chevrolet of Paul Hogan, who would trail for the next two laps when the battle for last and the transfer spot took a hit. While battling for 15th, the #16 CitiFinancial Ford of Christian Elder made contact with the #50 Southern Piping Company Chevrolet of Brandon Miller, sending Miller down the track and into the #46 Z-Line Designs Toyota of Dylan Bryan, sending both cars nearly head on into the concrete wall. Miller would be sent up the track and was almost hit by the unsponsored #0 of Ignazio Alberti, before it was hit by the unsponsored #07 of Chase Miller before Brandon's car would come back down the track right in front of Casey's car. With no time to react, Casey slammed into the back of Brandon's car, severely damaging the front end of Casey's car and the backend of Brandon's car.

Both Casey and Chase would limp around the track before pulling behind the wall, their night done and the chance of racing in the biggest event was over after just four laps before they would be joined just one lap later by Brandon.

The remaining Bottom Five would struggle and would actually lose a lap during the event during the final laps of the event; 27th was the #14 Keystone Light Beer Chevrolet of Harry Loughran and 26th was the Ariat Harrisons Chevrolet of Lee Mitchell.

On race day, Mests rolled off starting 32nd while starting last was the #27 Mason Day Paving Chevrolet of Cole Nixey, the first lap was clean but as soon as the field entered Turn 1 to start Lap 2, chaos would break out. The entry list, for the 17th time this season, and second in a row, would be 37 trucks. Jay Jefferson would collect his second career series pole in qualifying, his first since Evergreen Speedway, by posting a time of 32.161 seconds, while Crouch would fair well in qualifying, posting a time of 32.252 seconds, 0.091 seconds behind Jefferson's pole winning time, placing Crouch in 10th position. Posting the slowest time during qualifying was Nashville last-place finisher the unsponsored #60 Addington Racing Chevrolet of Christian Russell, who was 0.227 seconds behind Jefferson's lap time.

On race day, Russell would trail for only the first two turns before knocking Fontana last-place finisher the #2 Team ASE Racing Ford of Monika Flores into last. Flores would trail for the first two laps around the 1.5 mile track before she would knock two time last-place finisher the #88 PBA Tour Chevrolet of Carlos Rodriguez would fall back into last on Lap 3. The next time by the unsponsored #09 Greenfield Racing Dodge of Season 3 Champion Zachary Fitzwater would fall back to last on Lap 4, but his stay wouldn't be for long as the next circuit by he would knock the #16 NAPA Brakes Chevrolet of Chris Kyle into last on Lap 5. Kyle would trail for the next two laps before he would knock Homestead last-place finisher the #24 GMAC Financial Services Chevrolet of Nathan Ormond into last on Lap 7. Next time by I-70 last-place finisher the #43 Cummins Engines Dodge of Marcus Saatchi would fall back to last on Lap 8, as Saatchi would trail the field for the next three laps till Lap 12 when he knocked Rodriguez back to last. Carlos's stay was once again only one lap as the next time by the start/finish line, the battle for last would come to an end as a multi-truck crash would break out.

Contact between the #15 Acxiom Ford of Colby Harris and Flores would cause Flores to come down the track and into Crouch, causing Crouch to slide up the track right into the path of the #28 Federated Auto Parts Ford of Jack Lagasee, causing Crouch's truck to flip over and lands on his roof, sliding across the start/finish line with Flores last on Lap 13. Crouch's truck had to be flipped over before the driver climbed out of the truck uninjured, but his truck was done for the day, as well as Ormond's, who was able to limb around the track and crossed the line before pulling behind the wall.

Finishing 35th was the #16 of Chris Kyle, who suffered a flat tire just before the field started the Green, White, Checkered and would fall one lap down behind the race leaders, but was able to finish the race under power.

The remaining Bottom Five would finish on the same lap as the race leaders; 34th was the aforementioned #2 of Monika Flores and 33rd was the #4 All American Museum Dodge of Daniel Bouchard.

By virtue of Crouch finishing last, Joshua Rush would lock up the SCRLASTCAR Championship on the strength of two last-place finishes at Milwaukee and Nazareth. It is Rush's first ever SCRLASTCAR Championship in his career.

The Season 4 SCRL Rainbow Dash Truck Series Championship went to Zachary Fitzwater, the second straight the driver, and fourth overall in his career, and the first for his team owner, Dick Greenfield. Fitzwater had no last-place finish in the season, with his worst finish of the seaosn being a 35th - coming at Gateway. Congratulations to Fitzwater and the Greenfield Racing team for having a great year and making history in the SCRL.

TRUCKS: Darren Allen crashes out early at Phoenix and into championship battle; SCRLASTCAR five-way battle set for Las Vegas

Darren Allen picked up the 2nd last place finish of his SCRL Rainbow Dash Truck Series career in Saturday's GM Goodwrench Service Plus / AC Delco 300 at the Phoenix International Raceway when his #99 Exide Batteries Ford was eliminated in a multi-truck accident after 2 of 32 laps.

The finish, which occurred in his 26th career series start, was his first on the circuit since the Ram Tough 200 Presented by Pepsi at the Gateway International Raceway when he was eliminated in a multi-truck accident after 14 of 22 laps; 4 races ago. In the Truck Series, it's the 4th for the #99 and the 35th from a crash. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 16th for the #99 and 268th from a crash.

After trailing for the first time in his career at Gateway, Allen would fight back with a 7th at Martinsville, 20th at the twisting road course of Sears Point before having to miss the last round at Mesa Marin as his Roush Racing team focused their truck on the one mile Phoenix track.

The entry list, for the 16th time this season, and the first since Martinsville, would be bumped back up to 37 entries. Points leader Zachary Fitzwater would collect his second career series pole in qualifying, his first since I-70 Speedway, a race he would win, by posting a time of 28.537 seconds, while Allen would struggle in qualifying, posting a time of 28.815 seconds, 0.278 seconds behind Fitzwater's pole winning time, placing Allen in 30th position. Posting the slowest time during qualifying was the #00 Sprayer Auto Parts Chevrolet of Nick Kennedy, who was 0.383 seconds behind Kyle's lap time.

On race day, Kennedy would trail for the first lap around the mile track before the race's first caution would come out when two time last-place finisher the #3 GM Goodwrench Service Plus Chevrolet of Samet Ozkan would make contact with the #4 All American Museum Dodge of Daniel Bouchard which sent Ozkan up the track and into the #20 Orleans Hotel & Casino Chevrolet of Chakat Stripepaws, which would cause a chain reaction and broke out into a seven truck crash. While the wreck was happening, Allen stayed on the high side of the track to try and avoid the crash, but actually ran into Nashville last-place finisher the unsponsored #60 Addington Racing Chevrolet of Christian Russell, as it would damage the front end of Allen's truck, as he would limped back to the pits and into the garage. The team would look over the truck and found that the impact to Russell's truck had damaged the radiator, ending their day after only two laps.

Finishing 36th was two time last-place finisher the #75 Spears Manufacturing, who was also damaged in the same crash and while his team did make repairs to the truck, he was well off pace, losing a lap in the final stages and would fall back to the 36th spot.

Finishing 35th was the #98 Hastings Premium Filters Ford of Al Lagasee, who suffered a blown tire while running in 12th just seconds before the final caution of the race came out. While it prevented from Lagasee from going multiple laps down, he was able to remain one lap down and when the rest of the field caught Rush's slow truck, Lagasee was able to pass him easily as well and would finish above Rush.

The remaining Bottom Five would finish on the same lap as the race leaders; 34th was the #16 NAPA Brakes Chevrolet of Chris Kyle and 33rd was the aforementioned #20 of Chakat Stripepaws.

Entering the season finale at Las Vegas, mathematically only Joshua Rush, Darren Allen, Jay Jefferson, Samet Ozkan and Carlos Rodriguez can win the SCRLASTCAR Championship. If anyone but those four drivers trail at Vegas, it will give Rush the championship out right, but if either of the other four drivers can finish last, even if Rush finishes in the Bottom Five, they will win the championship.

TRUCKS: Blown Engine prevents Jay Jefferson from completing a lap at Mesa Marin; enters battle for SCRLASTCAR Championship with two races to go

Jay Jefferson picked up the 2nd last place finish of his SCRL Rainbow Dash Truck Series career in Friday's Dodge California Truck Stop 300 at the Mesa Marin Raceway when his #8 PBA Tour Chevrolet fell out with engine issues without completing any of the 30 laps.

The finish, which occurred in his 94th career series start, was his first on the circuit since the Kroger 225 at the Louisville Motor Speedway when he completed 21 of the 23 laps under power; 6 races ago. In the Truck Series, it's the 3rd for the #8 and the 15th for engine issues. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 22nd for the #8 and 58th for engine issues.

After trailing for the first time in his four year truck career at Louisville, Jay would bounce back with a 13th place finish at Richmond before he would struggle in the next three races with a 22nd at Memphis, 32nd at Gateway and a 31st at Martinsville. For the third and final road course event of the season, Jay would survive all the wrecks and a record 5 Green, White, Checkers to cross the line in a respectable 7th at Sears Point.

The entry list, for the first time since Louisville, would be cut down to only 31 trucks for the ninth and final time in Season 4, with the final two events at Phoenix and Las Vegas being able to hold all 37 entries. Chris Kyle would collect his third career series pole in qualifying, posting a time of 16.399 seconds, while Jay would struggle in qualifying, posting a time of 16.833 seconds, 0.434 seconds behind Kyle's pole winning time, placing Jay in 27th position. Posting the slowest time during qualifying was the #44 Federated Auto Parts Ford of Chase Harris, who was 0.473 seconds behind Kyle's lap time.

On race day as drivers began their lone pace lap around the half mile track, Jefferson's truck instantly started to smoke, with the driver on the inside line he would quickly move out of the way of the drivers behind him and pulled to the inside of the track, following the pace truck down pit lane as the field took the green flag. Jefferson would pull into the garage and not his pit stall as his ThorSport Racing crew rushed behind the wall to see what the problem was. Jay climbed out of the truck obviously in disgust, with the team looking over the truck for a few minutes before deciding there was nothing to be done, with Jay being listed as "Out" by the 7th lap.

The remaining Bottom Five would finish on the same lap as the race leaders; 30th was the #20 Orleans Hotel & Casino Chevrolet of Chakat Stripepaws, 29th was the aforementioned #44 of Chase Harris, 28th was Richmond last-place finisher the #7 Prime Performance Chevrolet of Chakat Lightingblaze and 27th was Martinsville last-place finisher the #6 RE/MAX International Chevrolet of Dilan Ebrahimian.

With two races to go in the season, Jay has now joined Joshua Rush, Carlos Rodriguez and Samet Ozkan with two last-place finishes a piece on the season. If anyone other then those three drivers finishes last at Phoenix, it could set up a five driver battle at Las Vegas, but if Rush or Jay finishes last at Phoenix, they could lock up the championship with one race to go.

TRUCKS: Blown Engine prevents Ryan Pritchard from completing a lap at Sears Point just seconds before three truck wreck in chaotic first lap

Ryan Pritchard picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Rainbow Dash Truck Series career in Thursday's Kragen / Exide 151 at the Sears Point Raceway when his #89 Precision Automotive Ford fell out with engine issues without completing any of the 18 laps.

The finish occurred in his 16th career series start. In the Truck Series, it's the 1st for the #89 and the 14th for engine issues. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 2nd for the #89 and 57th for engine issues.

Entering the fourth ever season of the Truck Series, Pritchard had found victory lane just once in his SCRL career despite having competed for several series, having won at the Star Speedway in Season 1 of the SCRL Icebreakers Whelen Series. Pritchard would sign up to compete in his first ever truck series season, but due to the amount of drivers trying to get in, Pritchard was forced to sign to compete on a part-time schedule, which would be for 18 of the event's 27 races. Pritchard's team would miss the first race of the season at Walt Disney World, with Pritchard's first ever start coming at Homestead, a race he would finish 21st before finishing 28th at Phoenix. After missing the next three races at Portland, Evergreen and I-70, Pritchard would return with a 25th at Watkins Glen, 30th at Texas before he would score in impressive 4th place at Bristol. A 14th at Milwaukee Mile would be followed with his second 4th place finish at Nazareth, 30th Fontana, 16th at Pikes Peak, 16th at IRP and a 22nd at Loudon. After being forced to miss the next four races at Flemington, Nashville, Heartland Park and Louisville, Pritchard would come back with a 5 place finish at Richmond, 27th at Memphis, 17th at Gateway before finishing 5th in the last round at Martinsville.

Rohan Marmot excited to be in his first race.
The entry list, for the first time since the finale at Las Vegas in Season 3, would be bumped up to 38 trucks with the announcement that Rohan Marmot, who would be making his SCRL debut in his hometown and at his home track, would race at the twisting road course of Sears Point. Rohan, a centaur, would sign to drive a third truck for Roush Racing, choosing to drive the #80 Grainger Ford with no past experience in racing with most of the other drivers were worried about and voiced their concern before the weekend begin. Rohan would also be making history by becoming only the second ever centaur in league history to race with the first ever being Oreius Centaur who retired at the end of 2019.

Blaise Zebrataur would collect his first career series pole in qualifying, posting a time of 102.167 seconds, while Pritchard fair well in qualifying, post a time of 103.016 seconds, 0.849 seconds behind Blaise's pole winning time, placing Pritchard in 17th position. During qualifying there were 11 drivers that would not post a time due to inspections taking to long for some drivers, so starting last on race day was Pikes Peak last-place finisher the #77 Doran Racing Enterprises Chevrolet of Bob Jenkins.

On race day as drivers began their lone pace lap around the 1.949 mile road course, Pritchard's truck started to smoke as the field reached Turn 4 as he would pull out to try and not get any old on the track, reporting to his team that something was wrong under the hood. At the same time, Memphis last-place finisher the #50 Grainger Ford Cameron Hathaway, who also started to slow in the esses, reporting that he had a flat left front tire. Both drivers pulling onto pit road as the race began, with Pritchard pulling behind the wall as his team looked over the truck, while Hathaway's team quickly put on four fresh tires and sent their driver back out onto the track as the field reached Turn 4.

At that same time, the #20 Orleans Hotel & Casino Chevrolet of Chakat Stripepaws would be spun out by two time last-place finisher the #3 GM Goodwrench Service Plus Chevrolet of Samet Ozkan in Turn 4 as Ozkan would be able to continue on with minor damage, while Stripepaws's truck would be destroyed from hitting the tire barrier. As the field raced toward Turn 10, I-70 last-place finisher the #43 Cummins Engines Dodge of Marcus Saatchi would make contact with Homestead last-place finisher the #24 GMAC Financial Services Chevrolet of Nathan Ormond, sending both trucks off track and hard into the tire barrer, bringing out the race's first caution. After some brief confusion on who would be scored where, Pritchard's truck would be listed as "out" on the second lap with Stripepaws being scored in 37th, following by Saatchi and Ormond, all being scored having not completed a lap.

Rounding out the Bottom Five in 34th was the #15 Acxiom Ford of Colby Harris, who would suffer a broken camshaft just before the race went back under green.

Entering the fourth ever season of the Truck Series, Dilian had found victory lane just once in his SCRL career despite having competed for several series. Dilian would sign up to compete in his first ever truck series season. Dilian's truck would be towed back to the pits and into his stall before the race started and the team would look over his truck, discovering that the engine problem was in fact terminal, with the team pushing Dilian behind the wall and the driver climbing out of his truck disappointed, but it wasn't until Lap 7 that the truck was listed as "out" on scoring.

Finishing 36th was Richmond last-place finisher the #7 Prime Performance Chevrolet of Chakat Lightingblaze, who would be involved in the race's first caution on Lap 1 as shi tried to avoid the spinning Nashville last-place finisher the unsponsored #60 Addington Racing Chevrolet of Christian Russell, but wasn't quick enough as Lightingblaze would destroy the left front of hir truck. Kennedy would try and swerve to miss it but waited too late as he slammed into Rush's parked truck, destroying the front end of Kennedy's truck and collecting four other drivers. Kennedy was obviously very livid on the radio, not only at the officials for throwing the caution before the race went back green, but also as Rush for stalling on the track and not the access road. Kennedy would drive his truck back around and would cross the start/finish line to be scored competing eight laps, but would pull into the garage and done for the day.

As the field followed the pace truck around under yellow, Hathaway, who had climbed up 7th, suddenly began to start smoking as the field went down the backstretch, with the driver pulling on the access road and then onto the pits and into his stall as the crew looked over his truck briefly before pushing it behind the wall. After several minutes of looking over the truck, it was discovered the truck had broken the camshaft and their day was done, with Hathaway being listed as "out" on Lap 12, but wouldn't take the final spot till one lap later.

The remaining Bottom Five would finish on the same lap as the race leaders; 36th was the #15 Acxiom Ford of Colby Harris, 35th was Loudon last-place finisher the #19 Pennzoil Ford of Chakat Raindancer, 34th was I-70 last-place finisher the #43 Cummins Engines Dodge of Marcus Saatchi and 33rd was the aforementioned #28 of Jack Lagasee.

Throwback ARCA: Chakat Whitelion scores lone ARCA last-place finish of hir career when shi trails wire to wire at NJMP

Chakat Whitelion picked up the 1st last place finish of hir SCRL Lucas Oil ARCA Racing Series career in the Season 1 All America Race Weekend Pres. by Global Barter at the New Jersey Motorsports Park when hir #8 UNOH / Dodge Motorsports Dodge completed all 8 laps under power.

The finish came in hir 13th career start.

Whitelion had already been a proven winner in the SCRL, having visited victory lane in other series, and was looking to bring that same success to the ARCA Series. Whitelion previously competed in the pre-season ARCA Series a year earlier with a best finish of 6th at Daytona. In hir return to the ARCA Series, Whitelion finished 3rd at Daytona, 28th at Atlanta, 16th at Charlotte, 4th at Talladega, 7th at Gateway, 33rd at Kentucky, 14th at Pocono, 24th at Michigan before finishing 29th in the last round at Texas.

On race day, Whitelion rolled off starting in the final spot and would quickly lose touch with the car in front of hir as over the first six laps shi was nearly three seconds behind, but over the final two laps shi found some speed and cut the distance down to one second but wasn't enough to gain a spot, trailing for all eight laps, finishing 24 seconds behind the race leaders.

Rounding out the Bottom Five were: 40th was the unsponsored #68 Kimmel Racing Ford of Nick Kennedy, 39th was Michigan last-place finisher the #25 Venturini Motorsports Toyota of Cole Nixey, 38th was the unsponsored #10 Fast Track Racing Ford of Don Benson and 37th was the #11 Syngenta Ford of Todd Kennedy.

Whitelion would never have as much success as shi did in other series, never visiting victory lane in the ARCA Series or the SCRL ARCA Truck division. Whitelion currently has the record for most championships, 7, and the most wins in a career, 35. Whitelion is currently competing in the SCRL Rainbow Dash Truck Series, looking for hir 8th championship.
