TRUCKS: Early pileup at Nazareth gives Joshua Rush his second last-place finish in a row

Joshua Rush picked up the 2nd last place finish of his SCRL Rainbow Dash Truck Series career in Friday's NAPA Autocare 200 at the Nazareth Speedway when his #75 Spears Manufacturing Chevrolet was eliminated in a multi-truck accident after 4 of 20 laps.

The finish, which occurred in his 28th career series start, was his first on the circuit since the DieHard 200 at the Milwaukee Mile when he fell out with camshaft problems after completing 4 of the 20 laps, 1 race ago. In the Truck Series, it's the 2nd for the #75 and the 32nd from a crash. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 7th for the #75 and 265th from a crash.

After finishing last for the first time in his Truck Series career, Joshua and his Spears Motorsports team traveled from Wisconsin and down to Pennsylvania as the series returned to the Nazareth Speedway for the third time in series, a track that one year prior, Rush would finish 18th place and was looking to improve on that finish.

The entry list for the seventh time this season would be 37 trucks. Chakat Whitelion would collect the first career pole of hir career, posting a time of 30.694 seconds, while Rush would disappoint in qualifying, only 0.582 seconds behind Whitelion's pole winning time. Posting the slowest time during qualifying was the #52 Purolator PureOne Filters Chevrolet of Blaise Zebrataur, who posted a time that was 0.703 seconds behind Whitelion's pole winning time.

On race day, Blaise would trail for the first three turns before he knocked the #22 Red Dog Ford of Riley Spurlytube into the final spot and would trail for the first two laps around the one mile track, before Spurlytube would knock the #15 Acxiom Ford of Colby Harris into the final spot on Lap 3. As the field entered Turn 3, the #10 A & G Coal Chevrolet of Celious Wolf was racing with the #4 All American Museum Dodge of Daniel Bouchard and Phoenix last-place finisher the #18 Dana Corporation Dodge of Carter Joey as the three trucks raced three wide before they made contact and sent Wolf head on into the outside wall, bringing out the race's first caution of the day.

As the field took the caution flag, the unsponsored #60 Addington Racing Chevrolet of Christian Russell made contact with the I-70 last-place finisher the #43 Cummins Engines Dodge of Marcus Saatchi which sent Saatchi into Watkins Glen last-place finisher the #88 PBA Tour Chevrolet of Carlos Rodriguez, which caused Saatchi and Rodriguez to spin out in Turn 1 which would cause a big pileup in Turn 1. As the field tried to brake and avoid the wreck, Rush ran into the back of the #2 Team ASE Racing Ford of Michael Brown, which severely damaged the front end of Rush's truck, and destroyed the radiator of Rush's truck. Rush would circle around the track one more lap before he would pull behind the wall, done for the day.

The Bottom Five would be filled up in a battle of second before the race's third caution as the #24 Team Hendrick Chevrolet of Nathan Ormond, who suffered a broken piston while leading on Lap 15, just before the race went back to racing. Ormond was unable to make it back to pit road and stalled on the Frontstretch, just after the start/finish line, bringing out the race's third caution and extended the race by way of the Green, White, Checkered rule. Just seconds later, the #8 PBA Tour Chevrolet of Jay Jefferson, would suffer engine failure entering Turn 2 and would cost back to the pits, being scored in 35th. As the field entered Turn 3, the #16 NAPA Brakes Chevrolet of Chris Kyle was racing for 2nd place when he was spun out by the #1 Team ASE Racing Ford of Monika Flores, sending Kyle for a spin into the outside wall. As the field raced past, the #4 of Daniel Bouchard was stuck on the high side and hit Kyle's truck, destroying the right front and ending both drivers day, but they were scored having competed 17 laps.
