TRUCKS: Sour Engine prevents Dilian Ebrahimian from completing a lap at Martinsville

Dilian Ebrahimian picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Rainbow Dash Truck Series career in Wednesday's NAPA 250 at the Martinsville Speedway when his #6 RE/MAX International Chevrolet fell out with engine issues without completing any of the 25 laps.

The finish occurred in his 23rd career series start. In the Truck Series, it's the 1st for the #6 and the 13th for engine issues. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 17th for the #6 and 56th for engine issues.

Entering the fourth ever season of the Truck Series, Dilian had found victory lane just once in his SCRL career despite having competed for several series. Dilian would sign up to compete in his first ever truck series season. In his first ever start, Dilian would finish a impressive 15th at Walt Disney while he would go on to struggle in the next two rounds, with a 31st at Homestead and a 23rd at Phoenix. A 14th at Portland, would be followed by his first ever Top 5 in the Truck Series, a 4th at Evergreen. A 12th at I-70 and a 12th at Watkins Glen would be followed with a series best 3rd at Texas, and while he would struggle to a 35th place at Bristol, in the next round at the Milwaukee Mile, he would finish 2nd to Chakat Whitelion, who visited victory lane for the 33rd time in hir career. A 16th at Nazareth would be followed with a 11th at Fontana, 8th at Pikes Peak, 11th at IRP, 19th at Loudon, 11th at Flemington, 9th at Nashville, 25th at Heartland Park and 9th at Louisville. In just his 20th start, Dilian would survive a wild race at Richmond and would take the lead on a Green, White, Checkered to score his second ever SCRL sanctioned win. A 4th at Memphis would continue the streak before he would be caught up in a late wreck at Gateway in the last round and finished 24th.

The entry list for the 15th time this season, and the fourth race in a row, would be 37 trucks. Nick Kennedy would collect his second career series pole in qualifying, posting a time of 20.622 seconds, while Dilian fair well in qualifying, post a time of 20.763 seconds, 0.141 seconds behind Kennedy's pole winning time, placing Dilian in 13th position. Posting the slowest time during qualifying was the #20 Orleans Hotel & Casino Chevrolet of Chakat Stripepaws, who was 0.475 seconds behind Kennedy's lap time.

On race day as drivers began their lone pace lap around the legendary 0.526 short track, Dilian would pull to the inside of the track, reporting to his crew that the engine sounded off, like it had a miss to it before it shut off completely, forcing Dilian to stall on the frontstretch. Dilian's truck would be towed back to the pits and into his stall before the race started and the team would look over his truck, discovering that the engine problem was in fact terminal, with the team pushing Dilian behind the wall and the driver climbing out of his truck disappointed, but it wasn't until Lap 7 that the truck was listed as "out" on scoring.

Finishing 36th was Richmond last-place finisher the #7 Prime Performance Chevrolet of Chakat Lightingblaze, who would be involved in the race's first caution on Lap 1 as shi tried to avoid the spinning Nashville last-place finisher the unsponsored #60 Addington Racing Chevrolet of Christian Russell, but wasn't quick enough as Lightingblaze would destroy the left front of hir truck. Lightingblaze would pulling into the backstretch pits, and after a brief look over by hir crew, Lightingblaze was pushed behind the wall, done for the day.

Finishing in 35th place would be the pole sitter, the #00 Sprayer Auto Parts Chevrolet of Nick Kennedy. Who had led every single lap up till Lap 7 when, as the field went back to racing after the event's first caution, two-time last-place finisher the #75 Spears Manufacturing Chevrolet of Joshua Rush, who would stall in Turn 1 just as the field went back to racing. Kennedy would try and swerve to miss it but waited too late as he slammed into Rush's parked truck, destroying the front end of Kennedy's truck and collecting four other drivers. Kennedy was obviously very livid on the radio, not only at the officials for throwing the caution before the race went back green, but also as Rush for stalling on the track and not the access road. Kennedy would drive his truck back around and would cross the start/finish line to be scored competing eight laps, but would pull into the garage and done for the day.

The remaining Bottom Five would both finish three laps down to the race leaders; 34th was the aforementioned #75 of Joshua Rush and 33rd was the #15 Acxiom Ford of Colby Harris.
