TRUCKS: Broken header prevents Chakat Raindancer from completing a lap at Loudon

Chakat Raindancer picked up the 1st last place finish of hir SCRL Rainbow Dash Truck Series career in Saturday's Pennzoil / VIP Auto Discount Tripleheader at the New Hampshire International Speedway when hir #19 Pennzoil Ford fell out with header issues without completing any of the 22 laps.

The finish occurred in hir 11th career series start. In the Truck Series, it's the 2nd for the #19 and the 2nd for header issues. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 12th for the #19 and 23rd for header issues.

Raindancer is still building hir career in the SCRL, while shi has found success in the ISCR, shi had made one previous start in his career, a race shi would actually trail for hir first career last-place finish. Despite having only one career start in hir career, Raindancer would sign to drive on a part-time ride with driving for Roehrig Motorsports. Raindancer would choose to skip the first race of the season at Walt Disney World, making hir Truck Series debut in the event's second race of the season at Homested, a race Raindancer finished 34th in. A poor finish of 31st at Phoenix would stay with the team as they would skip the next three events before returning at the season's first road course race, a event Raindancer would finish 18th place. A 23rd at Texas, a 18th at Bristol, 23rd at the Milwaukee Mile, before shi scored hir first career SCRL top 10, a 8th at Nazareth. A 35th place finish at Fontana would be followed by a 19th at Pikes Peak before finishing 12th in the last round at IRP.

The entry list for the 11th time this season would be 37 trucks. Pikes Peak last-place finisher Bob Jenkins would collect his first career pole of his career in qualifying, posting a time of 33.611 seconds, while Raindancer would struggle, posting a time of 33.933, while only 0.322 seconds behind Jenkins's pole winning time, it placed hir a disappointing 23rd position. Posting the slowest time during qualifying was the #15 Acxiom Ford of Colby Harris, who posted a time of 34.526, a time that was 0.593 seconds behind Jenkins's pole time.

On race day, as the field made their lone pace lap around the one mile track, Raindancer's truck began to instantly smoke as shi was forced to pull to the inside of pit road and was forced to ride all around the track on the apron, following the pace truck on pit road before shi pulled behind the wall as the field took the green flag. After looking over the truck for nearly ten minutes, it was decided to retire the truck, with the truck being listed as "out" due to a broken header after six laps had been completed.

Finishing 36th was the unsponsored #60 Addington Racing Chevrolet of Christian Russell who, while running in 18th, suffered brake failing while entering Turn 1. Russell turned his truck quickly to the right and slid into the wall with the right side of his truck, bringing out the race's first caution of the day. After limping back around the track, Russell would lose two laps to the race leaders before the problem was finally fixed, but despite Russell's team hard work, they were unable to move up any positions.

Finishing 35th was the #20 Orleans Hotel & Casino Chevrolet of Chakat Stripepaws, who suffered a broken Piston just before the race was extended by way of the Green, White, Checkered Rule.

The remaining Bottom Five would both finish two laps down from the race leaders; 34th was the #99 Exide Batteries Ford of Darren Allen and 33rd was the #7 Prime Performance Chevrolet of Chakat Lightingblaze.
