TRUCKS: Broken Camshaft early at Milwaukee gives Joshua Rush the second last-place finish of his SCRL career

Joshua Rush picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Rainbow Dash Truck Series career in Thursday's DieHard 200 at the Milwaukee Mile when his #75 Spears Manufacturing Chevrolet fell out with camshaft problems after completing 4 of the 20 laps.

The finish occurred in his 27th career series start. In the Truck Series, it's the 1st for the #75 and the 9th for engine issues. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 6th for the #75 and 35th for camshaft issues.

Entering his first full time season in the truck series, Joshua has already found success in the series, having competed in 18 of the 26 events the season before on a part-time ride, a season that gave Joshua his first truck series win when he took the checkered flag by winning at Sears Point, while collectively Rush has scored five career wins in his career. Rush would come back and sign a one year contract with Spears Motorsports to try and win his first ever SCRL Championship but his season would start off with a rocky start by finishing 26th at Walt Disney before finishing 17th at Homestead, 33rd at Phoenix, 19th at Portland, 26th at Evergreen before Rush would score the first Top 10 of the season, a 6th place at I-70. A 33rd at Watkins Glen, 25th at Texas before being crashed out while racing for third before finishing 36th at Bristol.

The entry list for the sixth time this season would be 37 trucks. Dilan Ebrahimian, driving for Chesrown Racing, would collect the first career pole of his career, posting a time of 31.158 seconds, while Rush would impress in qualifying, only 0.230 seconds behind Ebrahimian's pole winning time. Posting the slowest time during qualifying was the #20 Orleans Hotel & Casino Chevrolet of Chakat Stripepaws, who a time that was nearly a full second behind Ebrahimian's pole winning time.

On race day, Stripepaws would remain in last for only the first two turns before knocking Texas last-place finisher the #90 NHL Dodge of Muhammad Zain Abdullah, who would trail for the first lap around the one mile track. Abdullah would then knock the #44 Federated Auto Parts Ford of Chase Harris into last on the very next lap. As the field entered Turn 1, the #99 Exide Batteries Ford of Darren Allen was racing three wide with the #2 Team ASE Racing Ford of Monika Flores and the #70 Easy Care / Town & Country Ford of Brock Beard, with all three trucks sliding up the track and hitting the Turn 4 wall, with Allen hitting it nearly head on. Allen would trail the next two laps as his crew worked on Allen's truck, losing a lap in the process.

During this time as the field ran behind the pace truck, Rush, who had fallen back to the 7th spot, began to slow down the backstretch with his truck smoking heavily. Rush would make his way to pit road and then pulled behind the wall just a lap before the field went back to racing. Allen would pull back out onto the track and would knock Rush back to last on the 6th lap, but it wasn't until Lap 8 that the truck was officially listed as out of the race, while Allen would never get his lap back and would finish 36th.

The remaining Bottom Five would finish on the same lap as the race leaders: 35th was the aforementioned #70 of Brock Beard, 34th was the #26 Auto Trim Design Network Ford of Derrick Edison and 33rd was the aforementioned #20 of Chakat Stripepaws.
