Throwback Formula E: Eli Bright becomes second straight driver to complete every lap at Kyalami

Eli Bright picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Formula E Series career in the Season 1 South Africa Sprint at the Kyalami Circuit when his #3 Red Bull completed all 11 laps under power.

The finish came in his 2nd career start. Bright had already proven he had talent before the newest series was made, having scored several career wins in different series. In the previous round at Mexico City, Bright finished 3rd behind Alex DeFranco and race winner Jonathan Raines.

On race day, Bright would roll off starting 21st while starting in the final spot was the #6 of Ryan Pritchard, a spot he would hold for only one turn as Pritchard was able to pass Bright in just the first turn. Bright would struggle to keep up with the field as the engine seemed to lose power around the third circuit, falling ten seconds behind the race leader by the end of the race, and nearly a full second behind the driver in from of him.

The remaining Bottom Five were: 21st the #12 of Dustin Joshua, 20th was the #44 of Daniel Evans, 19th was the aforementioned #6 of Ryan Pritchard and 18th was the #88 of Kelly Lee.

Bright's career in the SCRL would continue to grow, as he would pick up a total of seven career wins and continues to compete to this day in the SCRL.
