Posting the slowest time during qualifying was the #15 Acxiom Ford of Colby Harris, who was 0.493 seconds behind Lightingblaze's time.

On race night, Colby would trail for the first lap around the 0.438 short track before he would knock the #70 Easy Care Ford of Brock Beard into the final spot on the second lap. Brock would continue to struggle to gain any spots over the next three laps and was trailing the field then the battle of the ended suddenly. While running in 26th at the time, Jefferson would slow down suddenly and pulled to the inside of the track and pulled onto pit road, reporting of a flat tire.

Around the same time Jefferson suffered tire problems, Phoenix last-place finisher the #18 Dana Corporation Dodge of Carter Joey would also pit for the same problem. Joey's team was able to remain only one lap down, while Jefferson's team would struggle to get his truck on the jack. When his team finally was able to, Jefferson was sent back out onto the track as with no cautions would fly during the event, Jay would trail for the first time in his Truck career while Joey would finish 30th.
