Throwback ARCA: Chakat Whitelion scores lone ARCA last-place finish of hir career when shi trails wire to wire at NJMP

Chakat Whitelion picked up the 1st last place finish of hir SCRL Lucas Oil ARCA Racing Series career in the Season 1 All America Race Weekend Pres. by Global Barter at the New Jersey Motorsports Park when hir #8 UNOH / Dodge Motorsports Dodge completed all 8 laps under power.

The finish came in hir 13th career start.

Whitelion had already been a proven winner in the SCRL, having visited victory lane in other series, and was looking to bring that same success to the ARCA Series. Whitelion previously competed in the pre-season ARCA Series a year earlier with a best finish of 6th at Daytona. In hir return to the ARCA Series, Whitelion finished 3rd at Daytona, 28th at Atlanta, 16th at Charlotte, 4th at Talladega, 7th at Gateway, 33rd at Kentucky, 14th at Pocono, 24th at Michigan before finishing 29th in the last round at Texas.

On race day, Whitelion rolled off starting in the final spot and would quickly lose touch with the car in front of hir as over the first six laps shi was nearly three seconds behind, but over the final two laps shi found some speed and cut the distance down to one second but wasn't enough to gain a spot, trailing for all eight laps, finishing 24 seconds behind the race leaders.

Rounding out the Bottom Five were: 40th was the unsponsored #68 Kimmel Racing Ford of Nick Kennedy, 39th was Michigan last-place finisher the #25 Venturini Motorsports Toyota of Cole Nixey, 38th was the unsponsored #10 Fast Track Racing Ford of Don Benson and 37th was the #11 Syngenta Ford of Todd Kennedy.

Whitelion would never have as much success as shi did in other series, never visiting victory lane in the ARCA Series or the SCRL ARCA Truck division. Whitelion currently has the record for most championships, 7, and the most wins in a career, 35. Whitelion is currently competing in the SCRL Rainbow Dash Truck Series, looking for hir 8th championship.
