ARCA: Flat tire, then big crash, makes Samet Ozkan trail flag to flag at Charlotte
Samet Ozkan picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Lucas Oil ARCA Racing Series career in the Season 3 General Tire 150 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway when his #77 Barbera's Autoland Dodge was involved in a multi-car crash after 1 of the 40 laps.
The finish came in his 6th start. In the SCRL Lucas Oil ARCA Racing Series, it's the 2nd for car #77 and the 23rd from a crash. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 9th for the #77 and the 251st from a crash.
Entering Season 3 of the SCRL Lucas Oil ARCA Racing Series, Ozkan had found success in other SCRL series, having visited victory lane three times in his career, and was looking to bring back success into the ARCA's main series. Ozkan finished a disappointing 29th in his debut at Daytona, 23rd at Atlanta, 16th at Nashville, 10th at Salem before leading his first ever lap in the series before finishing 19th in the crash filled race at Talladega in the last round.
In qualifying, Alexander Rowe scored his first career series pole with a time of 28.228 seconds with Ozkan posting a time of 28.307 seconds, 0.079 behind Rowe's pole run, placing Ozkan 26th on the grid. Starting last was the #7 Advanced Mobile Power Systems Chevrolet of Alex Jones, 0.114 seconds off Rowe's pole sitting time.
Just seconds after the field rolled off pit road, Ozkan pulled to the inside of the track, just like what Jack Lagasee had done in the last round at Talladega. Ozkan would follow the pace car down pit road and into his stall, but thankfully for him it was only a flat tire, with his team sending him back out onto the track just after the field had completed their first lap. While getting up to speed, pole sitter Rowe had fallen back outside the Top 10 when he made contact with the unsponsored #6 Eddie Sharp Racing Chevrolet of Colin Dryburgh, sending Rowe into the outside wall, causing the car to flip over onto it's side.
Behind Rowe's car, the rest of the pack came flying in without slowing down, the perfect example of "lack of ARCA brakes" as a multi-car crash would break out, with Rowe flipping ten times before landing on all four wheels. Ozkan would slow up and avoid getting involved in the crash, but seconds later the race leader, the unsponsored #54 Kurzejewski Motorsports Dodge of Arina McShane entered Turn 1 at full speed and slammed into the back of Ozkan's car, destroying it and setting off another small wreck in Turn 1. Ozkan would limp back around and pulled behind the wall, having been scored only competing one lap.
The remaining Bottom Five would be involved in the event's first Big One as well as the wreck in Turn 1; 39th was Salem race winner the unsponsored #17 Roulo Brothers Racing Ford of Marcus Saatchi, 38th was the #11 Hudson Perf/ Drivelines / Warrick Tubing Dodge of Tony Newman, 37th was the #42 Crosley Radio Dodge of Sebastian Torres and 36th was the aforementioned #62 of Alexander Rowe.

Derrick Edison picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL ARCA Sportsman Series career in Monday's Season 1 Lucas Oil 200 at the Lucas Oil Raceway when his #36 O'Reilly Toyota was involved in a multi-car crash after 12 of the 20 laps.
The finish came in his 4th start. In the SCRL ARCA Sportsman Series, it's the 1st for car #36 and the 1st from a crash. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 4th for the #36 and the 250th from a crash.
Entering the brand newest SCRL ARCA division, Edison was looking to finally have a real successful season. Despite competing in several SCRL sanctioned series, Edison had yet to truly have a good showing, and had only found victory lane once in his whole SCRL career in Season 2 of the SCRL Rainbow Dash Truck Series, the Lund Look 225 at Heartland Park Topeka road course. In his debut for the Sportsman Series, Edison started last on the field before finishing a decent 23rd and would repeat that performance in the very next round at Mansfield. Entering the 3rd race of the season, Edison found himself visiting the same track that had gave him the lone win of his career, and the racing gods finally decided to give Edison as Edison would assume the race lead on the last lap after Jacob Britts spin, and would hold on over the final four turns to score his second SCRL sanctioned win.
In qualifying at the half mile oval, Edison would qualify 19th, a full half second behind Nitahbk's pole winning time, while starting last was Mansfield last-place finisher the #24 Pepsi / DuPont Chevrolet of Carlos Santiago.
When the race started, Santiago would remain in last for only the first four turns when chaos broke out on the frontstretch as coming out of Turn 4 the #26 Jackaroo / Shell Chevrolet of Mark Austin was spun out by the #38 Jani-King Ford of Josephi Krakowski, bringing out the first caution of the day. Austin would remain in last for the next three laps under caution, when running in 12th, the #16 Motorcraft Quality Parts / WinnDixie Ford of Trevor Collins stalled in Turn 1, reporting of a flat left front tire, being forced to be towed back to pit lane.
Thanks to great communication from the track crew and Collins's team, they were able to send their driver back out onto the track without losing a lap. Collins would remain in last for the next six laps before on Lap 12, the #11 Melling / Menards Chevrolet of Ray Dent, while running in 16th, began to slow coming out of Turn 4, with the #92 Summit Racing Equipment / CompCams Chevrolet of Jacob Britts spinning Dent right in front of a pack of cars, with Edison trying to squeeze by on the high side, only to slam hard into Dent's rear of the car, destroying the front of Edison's car, but Edison wouldn't take the final spot until Lap 15, when Dent was finally able to get back on track. With Dent able to get back out onto the track and finish in 26th, that knocked the #62 U-Haul / Lucas Oil Dodge of Rocco Twyman and the #38 of Josephi Krakowski down into 28th and 27th.
Rounding out the Bottom Five in 25th was the #25 Pennzoil / Autolite Chevrolet of Grayson Acevedo, who was the last car to finish on the same lap as the race leaders.

ARCA Late Model: Late race spin at Flat Rock gives Carter Friesen the third last-place finish of his career
Carter Friesen picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL ARCA Late Model Series career in Tuesday's Season 1 Flat Rock 125 at the Flat Rock Speedway when his #84 Community Pharmacies Dodge completed all 20 laps under power.

Prior to signing up to compete in the ARCA's Late Model Series, Frisen had competed in several SCRL sanctioned series, and had proven himself as a winner, having visited victory lane four times in his career, but was still looking to become a household name, having also struggled in several series as well, picking up two career last-place finishes in his career. When the race started, chaos broke out almost instantly as entering Turn 1, Salem last-place finisher the #21 Drive Up Super Cleaners Chevrolet of Cole Nixey was nearly spun out by the unsponsored #99 Chevrolet of John Norton, with Nixey able to regain control while Norton tried to regain control as well, spinning into the infield before coming back across the track and hitting Nixey, creating a four car pileup. Nixey would make a pit stop the next lap to fix the damaged he received, before being sent back out onto the track with minor cosmetic damage.
When the green flag came back out, Nixey would continue to trail the field due to the damaged he had received, falling almost a second behind the closest car in front of him, with Nixey remaining in the final spot all the way up till three laps when the battle for last ended. While running in 13th, Frisen would be battle with John Norton and the #097 Dodge Dealers / UAW Dodge of Aisha Pitts, when Frisen was spun out by Pitts on the frontstretch, with Friesen passing the start/finish line as the last car, placing him last, and with the race not going to be able to get back to racing in time, Friesen would trail for the final three laps and finish last for the first time in the ARCA Late Model Series.

Throwback CANADA: All-time Winningest driver Truttle gets first last-place finish at Exhibition Place after hard crash
Truttle picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Tim Hortons Canadian Series career in the Season 1 Streets of Toronto 100 at Exhibition Place when his #82 Schneider's / Metro Hot Rod Dodge was involved in a multi-car crash after 1 of 15 laps.
The finish came in his 7th career series start.
Truttle at this point had proven he was a first ballot Hall of Famer when his career comes to an end by having many league records, 8 wins in one season, most wins in a career, 27, until that was broken by Chakat Whitelion, and becoming the first ever champion in league history by winning the Season 1 ONL NASCAR Legends Championship. Truttle had made his debut in the original Canadian Series by finishing 28th at CTMP and then winning at Cayuga before the series was canceled and re-branded. Truttle returned in Season 1 but only on a part-time deal, and after choosing to sit out the first two races at Mosport and Circuit ICAR, Truttle made his first start of the season at Delaware, finishing 8th, and finishing 22nd in the last round at CTMP
On race day, Truttle started 4th while rolling off from the final spot was the #22 Canadian Tire / MotoMaster Dodge of Derrick Edison but it wouldn't take long before the battle for last was over before it even began. As the field entered Turn 1, the #9 Rheem / PartSource Dodge of Jay Jefferson made a three wide move, forcing Truttle to go wide and make contact with the #8 Farmers Feed Families Dodge of AJ Jones, and entering Turn 3 the two cars touched, with Jones turning Truttle hard into the Turn 3 wall. Truttle's car spun out back across the track and into the path of the #66 Quaker State / Durabody Dodge of Tony Newman, sending both cars for a flip, before landing back on all four wheels. Truttle's car was completely destroyed, and while he was shaken from the wild ride, he suffered no injuries and was cleared from the infield care center.
Also taken out in the same crash was AJ Jones, having taken a wild flip as well as his car had actually hit the fence with the roof of his car before landing back on all four wheels. Amazingly, Jones drove his car back around and crossed the start/finish line to be scored as completing one lap before the car was retired from the race.
33rd was the #5 EMCO / Whitemud Mechanical Dodge of Grayson Acevedo, who took a wild ride himself just three laps later on Lap 4, flipping in Turn 3 as well, and thankfully he too was uninjured.
Rounding out the Bottom Five in 32nd and 31st was the #90 Veloce Dodge of Jonathan Raines and the #97 Vannini Motorsports Ford of Evan Rudd, both involved in a Lap 7 crash, with Rudd completing one more lap to be scored higher, but Rudd was unable to escape the Bottom Five.
Truttle's career with the SCRL has cooled off in recent years with him completing time-to-time before serving a three month suspension in late 2018 for failing to comment on races. With the suspension lifted, Truttle returned to compete in Season 7 of the SCRL IROC Series, failing to visit victory lane, but scoring a runner up finish to Zachary Fitzwater at Michigan and finishing 2nd in points. Truttle has since lost his first place ranking on the all time win list, with Chakat Whitelion now leading with 31 career wins.

Dain Martin picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL ARCA Truck Series career in Wednesday's Season 2 ARCA Truck 50 at the Flat Rock Speedway when his unsponsored #18 Ford did not start the race.
The finish came in his 5th start. In the SCRL ARCA Truck Series, it's the 1st for truck #18 and the 1st for a truck that did not start the race. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 7th for the #18 and the 7th for a vehicle that did not start the race.
Entering Season 2 of the SCRL's ARCA Truck Series, Martin was a rookie to the SCRL, having never once completed a lap, but despite having no racing experience, Martin signed on to compete in the ARC Series's second highest division in hopes of one day possibly racing in the bigger series. Martin finished 17th in his debut at Toledo, 25th at Kil-Kare, 23rd at Nashville before finishing 24th in the last round at Lanier.
As the field prepared for qualifying, Martin's truck remained on pit road not having completed a lap as the truck was discovered to be leaking both oil and water from the engine, and with only minutes before the race, the team decided it was best to not risk it and would try to repair the damage for the next race at Salem, with the truck never once hitting the track, being listed as a did not start despite engine problems being the cause that was announced during the broadcast.
Finishing 25th was the #8 Gearheart Timber Management Chevrolet of Chakat Blizzardmane, who suffered a broken clutch just after competing the first lap before pulling into the pits, the crew looked under the hood to found the clutch was broken, ending hir day.
The remaining Bottom Five would finish on the same lap as the race leaders: 24th was the #21 unsponsored Chevrolet of Mike Pearson, 23rd was the #91 DeSales U Chevrolet of Chakat Whitelion and 22nd was the #47 PB2 Chevrolet of Brandon Parker.

ARCA Late Model: Flat tire at Salem gives Cole Nixey his 13th career last-place finish of his SCRL career; tied with Nick Kennedy for 2nd on the all time list
Cole Nixey picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL ARCA Late Model Series career in Monday's Season 1 Salem 100 at the Salem Speedway when his #21 Drive Up Super Cleaners Chevrolet finished under power after 18 of 20 laps.
The finish came in his 5th start. In the SCRL ARCA Late Model Series, it's the 1st for car #21 and the 5th where the car was still running. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 20th for the #21 and the 245th where the car was still running.
Cole is one of the most successful drivers in SCRL history, having picked up 10 career wins, which ranks him 13th on the all time win list and has reached the highest peak a driver can be, winning a championship, that coming in Season 3 of the SCRL NASCAR Legends Series. Which he has had a successful SCRL career at the front of the pack, Cole has also found trouble in his career, having finished last in 12 races, ranked third on the all time list behind Chakat Whitelion and Nick Kennedy.
Nixey signed up to compete in the ARCA's Late Model Series, but had found success in the main ARCA Series, having visited victory lane twice at Kentucky and Nashville Superspeedway in Season 1. In his debut for the Late Model Series, Nixey started 15th before finishing 14th in the series first race at Toledo. In the very next race, Nixey not only would win his first series pole, but would go on to lead all 30 laps and easily scored his 11th career win in the league's six year history. A 9th at Elko and a 5th in the last round at Lanier proved that Nixey's momentum would continue as the series visited the half mile at Salem.
Draco Drakul won his second career series pole with Nixey posting a qualifying time of 18.346, only 6 one thousandths of a second behind Draco's pole setting time, while starting last was Elko last-place finisher the #5 Whited Auburn Truck & R.V. Center Chevrolet of Shane Russell.
When the race started, the cars drove around the track to complete their pace lap, but entering Turn 3, Nixey pulled down to the inside of the track and would stall in Turn 3, forcing the start to be delayed for one lap while Nixey's car was towed back to the pits. As the green flag was finally waved, Nixey's team put four new fresh tires on their car before sending their driver back out on track in hopes of getting a caution or any other driver having problems, but it turned out no cautions would fly, giving Nixey his first last place finish in the series.
The remaining Bottom Five would all finish on the same lap as the race leaders: 19th was the #24 Lux Enterprises / Pullen Heavy In Chevrolet of Matt McIntyre, 18th was the #84 Community Pharmacies Dodge of Carter Friesen, 17th was the #9 Champion Direct Chevrolet of Tracey Dent and 16th was the unsponsored #99 Chevrolet of John Norton.

ARCA Midget: Daniel Hunter crashes seconds after the race starts at Indianapolis Speedrome
Daniel Hunter picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL ARCA Midget Series career in the Season 1 Indianapolis 100 at the Indianapolis Speedrome when his #16 was involved in a single car crash without completing any of the 20 laps.
The finish came in his 6th start. In the SCRL ARCA Midget Series, it's the 1st for car #16 and the 2nd from a crash. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 6th for the #16 and the 249th from a crash.
Entering Season 1 of the SCRL ARCA Midget Series, Daniel was still looking to score his first career win despite having competed in several SCRL series. In his debut for the Midget Series, Daniel started 12th and finished a disappointing 13th but the very next race Hunter finally scored his maiden victory, leading all 20 laps and winning at Salem. A 10th at Flat Rock, 4th at Devil's Bowl and a 18th in the last round at Kil-Kare placed Daniel 11th in points.
In qualifying at the 0.256 mile short track, Daniel was unable to post a lap during qualifying after failing inspection. Nick Kennedy would score his first career pole in the series while starting last was the #1 of Chakat Silverpaw.
On race day, it became clear there was something wrong with the track as entering Turn 3, Hunter crashed into a turtle which completely destroyed the car and would end his day without completing a lap.
The caution would turn out to be the longest of the race as the wreck would cause for officials to take too long to repair the track and remove Hunter's car from the track, which caused many fans in the stands to boo the finish, during which time Daniel Hunter's brother, the #21 John Hunter would also hit the same turtle in turn 3 and destroyed his car.
Finishing 18th was the #3 of Chakat Lightingblaze, who stalled out on track during the caution, would lose three laps during the race, but would finish under power.
The remaining Bottom Five drivers would finish one lap behind the race leaders: 17th was the #56 of Ethan Walker and 16th for the second race in a row was the #11 of Keri Benjamin.
