Floyd Wilson on track at Estoril.

Floyd Wilson picked up the 2nd last place finish of his SCRL Sun Energy Whelen Euro Elite 1 career in Round 8 at Circuit de Catalunya when his #65 Bobcat of Buffalo / Husky Dodge was unable to start and failed to complete any of the 10 laps.

The finish came in his 9th career start, was his first on the circuit since October 9 in Round 4 at Autodromo do Estoril after completing all 9 laps under power, 4 races ago. In the SCRL Sun Energy Whelen Euro Elite 1, it's the 2nd for car #65 and the 1st for did not start. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 2nd for the #65 and the 6th for did not start.

After getting his first last-place finish in his fourth start, Wilson continued to struggle, finishing 22nd in the next round at Hockenheimring, finishing a career best 5th at Kyalami and finished 15th in the last round at Red Bull Ring and entered Catalunya last in points.

Before the race even began, Wilson's car was missing from the starting lineup unable to start due to the track being unable to fit all twenty four cars, forcing Wilson's team being given last place points but unable to complete in the race, easily scoring the last-place award.

Finishing 23rd was #24 DuPont Chevrolet of Nitahbk, who was also unable to complete a single lap, as her engine blew up just before the race was to start, stalling on track and forcing an extra pace lap.

22nd was the #98 Wave Energy Drink of Muhammad Zain Abdullah, who was involved in a Lap 5 crash.

The remaining Bottom Five also struggled on the four mile road course: 21st was the #80 Monster Energy Ford of Tim Randolph and 20th was the #72 Taco Casa Dodge of Devin Anderson, who were both involved in the same Lap 5 crash as Abdullah, but was able to complete two more laps.
