The finish came in his 6th start. In the SCRL ARCA Midget Series, it's the 1st for car #16 and the 2nd from a crash. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 6th for the #16 and the 249th from a crash.
Entering Season 1 of the SCRL ARCA Midget Series, Daniel was still looking to score his first career win despite having competed in several SCRL series. In his debut for the Midget Series, Daniel started 12th and finished a disappointing 13th but the very next race Hunter finally scored his maiden victory, leading all 20 laps and winning at Salem. A 10th at Flat Rock, 4th at Devil's Bowl and a 18th in the last round at Kil-Kare placed Daniel 11th in points.
In qualifying at the 0.256 mile short track, Daniel was unable to post a lap during qualifying after failing inspection. Nick Kennedy would score his first career pole in the series while starting last was the #1 of Chakat Silverpaw.
On race day, it became clear there was something wrong with the track as entering Turn 3, Hunter crashed into a turtle which completely destroyed the car and would end his day without completing a lap.
The caution would turn out to be the longest of the race as the wreck would cause for officials to take too long to repair the track and remove Hunter's car from the track, which caused many fans in the stands to boo the finish, during which time Daniel Hunter's brother, the #21 John Hunter would also hit the same turtle in turn 3 and destroyed his car.
Finishing 18th was the #3 of Chakat Lightingblaze, who stalled out on track during the caution, would lose three laps during the race, but would finish under power.
The remaining Bottom Five drivers would finish one lap behind the race leaders: 17th was the #56 of Ethan Walker and 16th for the second race in a row was the #11 of Keri Benjamin.
