ARCA Truck: Engine problems prevents Dain Martin from starting at Flat Rock

Dain Martin picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL ARCA Truck Series career in Wednesday's Season 2 ARCA Truck 50 at the Flat Rock Speedway when his unsponsored #18 Ford did not start the race.

The finish came in his 5th start. In the SCRL ARCA Truck Series, it's the 1st for truck #18 and the 1st for a truck that did not start the race. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 7th for the #18 and the 7th for a vehicle that did not start the race.

Entering Season 2 of the SCRL's ARCA Truck Series, Martin was a rookie to the SCRL, having never once completed a lap, but despite having no racing experience, Martin signed on to compete in the ARC Series's second highest division in hopes of one day possibly racing in the bigger series. Martin finished 17th in his debut at Toledo, 25th at Kil-Kare, 23rd at Nashville before finishing 24th in the last round at Lanier.

As the field prepared for qualifying, Martin's truck remained on pit road not having completed a lap as the truck was discovered to be leaking both oil and water from the engine, and with only minutes before the race, the team decided it was best to not risk it and would try to repair the damage for the next race at Salem, with the truck never once hitting the track, being listed as a did not start despite engine problems being the cause that was announced during the broadcast.

Finishing 25th was the #8 Gearheart Timber Management Chevrolet of Chakat Blizzardmane, who suffered a broken clutch just after competing the first lap before pulling into the pits, the crew looked under the hood to found the clutch was broken, ending hir day.

The remaining Bottom Five would finish on the same lap as the race leaders: 24th was the #21 unsponsored Chevrolet of Mike Pearson, 23rd was the #91 DeSales U Chevrolet of Chakat Whitelion and 22nd was the #47 PB2 Chevrolet of Brandon Parker.
