ARCA Trucks: Broken piston prevents Nick Productions from completing a lap at Lanier; becomes third driver in series history to not complete a lap

Nick Productions picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL ARCA Truck Series career in Wednesday's Season 2 Georgia 50 Presented by Jani-King at the Lanier National Speedway when his unsponsored #77 Chevrolet fell out with piston problems without completing any of the 9 laps.

The finish came in his 4th start. In the SCRL ARCA Truck Series, it's the 2nd for truck #77 and the 1st for piston issues. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 8th for the #77 and the 10th for piston issues.

Entering Season 2 of the SCRL's ARCA Truck Series, Productions was still looking to make a name for himself in the SCRL, having only found victory lane once in his career, coming in the SCRL Formula E Series Presented by Twitter at the Streets of Toronto, a season he finished 3rd in points, his most successful season to date. Coming back across the pond, Productions signed up to compete in Season 2 of the ARCA's second highest division; the SCRL ARCA Trucks Series. Making his debut at Toledo, Productions finished 10th, 7th at Kil-Kare before finishing 20th in the last round at Nashville Fairgrounds.

In qualifying at the 0.375 short track, Productions would post a time of 15.649 seconds placing him 11th on the grid, 0.145 behind Chakat Whitelion's pole winning pace while qualifying last was the #4 unsponsored Chevrolet of Gatlin Downey.

As the field followed behind the pace truck entering Turn 4 to complete their lone pace lap, Productions's truck began to start smoking, the driver quickly reacted and pulled off the track and onto pit road as the field took the green flag. Productions's would make it to his pit stall while the team looked under the hood and quickly discovered the piston was broken, forcing the crew to push their truck behind the wall, being scored as having not completed a lap, the truck wouldn't be listed as "out" until just before the race went back under green on Lap 6.

The remaining Bottom Five would finish on the same lap as the race leaders: 25th was the was the unsponsored #6 Ford of Dain Martin, 24th was the unsponsored #18 Chevrolet of Dain Martin, 23rd was the #26 Coyote Entertainment Chevrolet of Derrick Jones and 22nd was the #8 Gearheart Timber Management Chevrolet of Chakat Blizzardmane.
