Formula 1: Marcus Saatchi trails flag to flag in caution free race at Red Bull Ring

Marcus Saatchi picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Red Bull Formula One Series career in the Season 2 Grand Prix of Austria at the Red Bull Ring when his #3 Red Bull Racing completed all 6 laps under power.

The finish came in his 15th career start. In the SCRL Red Bull Formula One Series, it's the 1st for car #3 and the 12th where the car was still running. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 16th for the #3 and the 225th where the car was still running. Entering Season 2 of the Formula One Series, Saatchi had already found success in the SCRL, having visited victory lane three previous times in his career, and nearly won the Season 2 SCRL Rainbow Dash Truck Series Championship before being caught up in a late race crash. Saatchi finished 7th in his F1 debut at the wreckfest Melbourne and followed it up by finishing runner up to Tony Newman at Bahrain. A 6th at Hockenheimring, 8th at Zandvoort, 9th at CTMP, and a 9th at Monza before scoring his first finish outside the Top 10, a 16th at Shanghai. A 17th at Monaco, a 21st at Silverstone, 19th at Magny-Cours before finishing 14th at Spa. In the next round at Yas Marina, Saatchi would get a great jump as Gordon Schmidt held off Richard Torres for the first few turns to allow Saatchi to pull away quickly and would go on to win in a controversial win by way of team orders, the 4th win of his career. A 14th in the next round at the Circuit of the Americas would be followed with a 12th place finish in the last round at Hungaroring.

On race day, Saatchi rolled off starting in the 21st spot while starting in the final spot was two-time last-place finisher the #94 Sahara Force India F1 Team of Jack Hallec, but shortly after the field took the green flag, Hallec made a move on Saatchi in Turn 1 and pulled away from Saatchi. Due to a tight track with no many passing zones, Saatchi was unable to gain much ground on the drivers in front of him as he would trail the field for every lap, falling 18 seconds behind by the time the checkered flag was waved.

The remaining Bottom Five were: 21st was the #9 Sauber F1 Team of Carter Friesen for the second straight race, 20th was Monza last-place finisher the #22 McLaren-Honda F1 Team of Trevor Collins, 19th was the aforementioned #94 of Jack Hallec and 18th was Hungaroring last-place finisher the #55 Scuderia Toro Rosso of Tanner Hill.
