The finish came in his 14th career start. In the SCRL Red Bull Formula One Series, it's the 1st for car #55 and the 11th where the car was still running. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 5th for the #55 and the 222nd where the car was still running. Tanner was one of several rookies not only making their Formula One Series debuts in Season 2, but was also one of several making their entire league debut by competing in the highest division possible run in the Formula series. Tanner's open wheel career started off with a 4th at Melbourne, 16th at Bahrain, 13th at Hockenheimring, 21st at Zandvoort, 14th at CTMP, 7th at Monza before scoring back-to-back wins at Shanghai and in the series biggest event at Monaco. A runner up finish at Silverstone would lead into a 18th at Magny-Cours, 10th at Spa, 7th in the series first night race at Yas Marina before finishing 13th in the last round at COTA.
On race day, Tanner rolled off starting in the final spot and once the green flag dropped, the driver knew that win number three would not come that day as his car showed slow power in the first lap as he fell quickly to three seconds by the first lap, five by and third and over ten by the fifth circuit. When the checkered flag waved, Tanner had fallen twenty two seconds behind, finishing last for the first time in his short career.
The remaining Bottom Five were: 21st was the #9 Sauber F1 Team of Carter Friesen, 20th was Monza last-place finisher the #22 McLaren-Honda F1 Team of Trevor Collins, 19th was the #19 Williams Martini Racing of Patrick Smith and 18th was Magny-Cours last-place finisher the #88 Manor Racing of Zachary Fitzwater.
