Aaron John-Steel picked up the 2nd last place finish of his SCRL Formula E Series Presented by Twitter career in the Season 2 Watkins Glen ePrix at Watkins Glen International when his #19 Boy Scouts of America completed all 9 laps under power.
The finish, which came in his 8th career start, was his first on the circuit since the Mexico City ePrix at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez when he completed all 8 laps under power, 1 race ago. In the SCRL Formula E Series, it's the 3rd for car #19 and the 5th where the car was still running. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 10th for the #19 and the 224th where the car was still running.
On a wet and rainy race day, Steel rolled off starting 16th while starting in the final spot was the #98 Integrity Energee Drink of Joshua Rush, a position he would hold throughout the lone caution that had come out on Lap 4. For the first time in league and series history, drivers raced in the rain, leading to many drivers taking it easy to understand how the track acted, but within the last few laps they stepped it up for the fans in attendance, with Rush making a move and knocking John-Steel back into the final spot with two laps to go, and as hard as he tried to regain the spot, Steel was unable to, finishing last for the second race in a row.
Rounding out the Bottom Five in the historic race were: 21st was the aforementioned #98 of Joshua Rush, 20th was the #25 Snapple of Mark Austin, 19th was the #83 NovoLog FlexPen of Sylas Nixey and 18th was the #9 Target of Mikali Kose.
