Dinkdrinker picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Wrangler Jeans Busch Grand National Series career in the Season 1 Busch 200 at the South Boston Speedway when his #00 Thomas Brothers Country Ham Oldsmobile fell out with tire problems after completing 20 of the 30 laps.
The finish came in his 7th start.
Entering Season 1 of the Busch Series, Dinkdrinker had tasted success in the SCRL NASCAR Legends Series and was looking to continue it in the SCRL's second highest division. A early wreck at Daytona placed Dink 36th at Daytona, 14th at Richmond, 24th at Bristol, a series best 2nd at Martinsville, 36th at Darlington and finishing 25th in the last round at Hickory.
Dinkdrinker would roll off the starting grid 31st while the #22 unsponsored Pontiac of Marcus Saatchi started last. Cloudy conditions made for a slick track, but no cautions would fly as the battle for positions happened almost every single lap while not a single caution would come out. By Lap 19, Dink had moved up to 15th and was looking to improve when his car suddenly began to slow down the backstretch, coasting around the track, crossing the start/finish line by the inside wall before pulling onto pit road at the entrance of Turn 2 before pulling into the garage, the team reporting that tire problems was the cause, Dinkdrinker's day done just ten laps short of the finish.
The remaining Bottom Five finished on the same lap as the race leaders: 41st was the #27 Mason Day Paving Chevrolet of Cole Nixey, 40th was the #82 unsponsored Pontiac of Aidan Shepherd, 39th was the #29 Longwood Restaurant Dodge of Zachary Fitzwater and finishing 38th was the #01 Miller Lite Pontiac of Tony Newman.
