Euro Elite 1: Floyd Wilson gets first career last-place finish at Estoril

Floyd Wilson picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Sun Energy Whelen Euro Elite 1 career in Round 4 at Autodromo do Estoril when his #65 Bobcat of Buffalo / Husky Dodge completed all 9 laps under power.

The finish came in his 4th career start. In the SCRL Sun Energy Whelen Euro Elite 1, it's the 1st for car #65 and the 2nd for running at the finish. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 1st for the #65 and the 126th for running at the finish.

Floyd Wilson is a relative rookie when it comes to racing in the SCRL, having not much experience entering season 1 of the brand new series. In his series debut, Wilson finished a disappointing 20th at Monza, a position he would finish one spot higher at Brands Hatch before scoring a career best 15th at Circuit de Spa Francorchamps one race ago as the series made their first ever stop in Lisbon, Portugal at the four mile road course at Autodromo do Estoril.

On race day, Wilson would roll off starting in the 21st spot while the #77 NAPA / Mohawk Dodge of Diego Yepez rolled off the grid in the final spot, a spot he would hold for the first two laps before the #32 Sweeteners Plus Chevrolet of Max Anderson fell back to last for Lap 3 but by Turn 3, Anderson had knocked Wilson back to last, and as much as Wilson tried, he could never move up, and the first last-place finish of his career was his.

The remaining Bottom Five finished on the same lap as the race leaders; 23rd was aforementioned #32 of Max Anderson, 22nd was the #98 Wave Energy Drink of Muhammad Zain Abdullah, 21st was the #44 of Greg Lee and finishing 20th was the #39 of Matt Hamill.
