Throwback ARCA TRUCK: Spanky Ham becomes the first driver to trail the field in the ARCA Truck Series's first ever dirt event at Eldora

Spanky Ham picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL ARCA Truck Series career in the Season 1 Inaugural Truck Classic at the Eldora Speedway when his #77 unsponsored Chevrolet was involved in a multi-truck crash after 9 of the 20 laps.

The finish came in his 6th career series start.

Ham signed up for what would be his one and only SCRL series he competed in and was looking to make a name for himself. Ham quickly got his career off to a great start by scoring a runner up finish at Toledo but from that point on Ham's team would struggle, scoring back-to-back 14th place finishes at Mesa Marin and Dover, a 24th at Bowman Gray while finishing 19th in the last round at Gateway.

On race day, Ham would roll off the field starting 12th while starting last was Gateway last-place finisher the #26 Coyote Entertainment Chevrolet of Isaac Nicholls, a spot that Nicholls would hold for the first eight laps when Ham, who was running in the 10th spot, went wide in Turn 4, smacking the wall and came back across the track in front of Mesa Marin last-place finisher the #72 Big Blue Dodge of Lowden Clear, spinning Ham out as he hit the inside wall head on before coming back up the track in front of the #21 unsponsored Chevrolet of Gavyn Moore, destroying his radiator while Ham's day was done right then and there while Moore was able to limp back to cross the line before pulling into the garage seconds before the #51 Exxon Chevrolet of Adam Karlson followed him, his front end also crushed in from running into the back of Moore as Ham, Moore and Karlson pilled up the bottom three spots by the 11th lap.

The remaining Bottom Five had also been involved in the same Lap 9 crash but limped home to be running at the finish; 23rd was the aforementioned #72 of Lowden Clear who finished three laps down and 22nd was the #88 unsponsored Chevrolet of Davis Sylvester who finished two laps behind the race leaders.

The SCRL ARCA Truck Series would be the only series Ham would compete in as he would never get to visit victory lane in his career, finishing 25th in his last start in the season finale at Airborne Speedway. He hasn't competed in a SCRL race since.
