CUP: Caution free race at the dangerous Langhorne gives Winnie Calhoun his first career last-place finish

Winnie Calhoun picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Grand National Series career in Race 14 at the Langhorne Speedway when his #92 Plymouth completed all 15 laps under power.

The finish came in his 5th career series start. In the SCRL Grand National Series, it's the 1st for car #92 and the 11th for running at the finish. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 6th for the #92 and 315th for running at the finish.

Winnie made his SCRL debut in the league's first ever SCRL Snowball Derby back in December, finishing 19th in his first ever race. Winnie would take a eight month break before making another attempt in a SCRL field, signing up to complete part-time in his first ever Cup season, competing in only the high paying events. Winnie would finish 25th in his first ever cup series start at Daytona Beach, before skipping the next round at Charlotte before coming back to finish 31st at Langhorne. Winnie's team would then go on a six race break before coming back at Hillsborough, finishing a career best 15th and after skipping the next two races at Dayton and Hamburg, Winnie would improve on his career best, finishing 13th in the last round at Darlington.

The entry list for the fifth time this season would be the full 42 car field with both full and part-time drivers racing.

In qualifying, Brandon Mayhew would score his first career pole a time of 29.504 seconds. Winnie would struggle around the one mile track, posting a time of 29.847, 0.343 seconds off Mayhew's time, placing Winnie 30th, the second worst starting spot all season long. Starting last in the race was the #38 Lincoln of Chase Abbott, who posted a time of 30.102, 0.598 seconds behind Mayhew's pole winning time.

On race day, Abbott would trail for the first two laps before knocking the Moyer Co. Lincoln of Brian Fox into last on Lap 3. Fox's stay in the final spot would last only one lap before knocking the #12 Mercury of Carlos Rodriguez into last. Rodriguez would trail for two laps before knocking two time last-place finisher the #97 Mercury of Brent Davison into last on Lap 6. Davison would trail for two laps as well before knocking the #22 Parks Novelty Oldsmobile of Sage Griffin on Lap 8. Griffin would trail for two laps as well before he knocked Winnie into last for the first time. Winnie would struggle over the final five laps to try and not trail for the first time in his career, but was unable to when the checkered flag waved.

Rounding out the Bottom Five were: 41st was the #7 Bob Flock Garage Oldsmobile of Patrick White, 40th was the #14 Lincoln of Chris Kyle, 39th was the aforementioned #97 of Brent Davison and 38th was the #22 Parks Novelty Oldsmobile of Sage Griffin.

CUP: Massive crash in the guardrail prevents Brent Davison from completing a lap at Darlington; becomes the first driver to trail in back-to-back Cup series races

Brent Davison picked up the 2nd last place finish of his SCRL Grand National Series career in the Southern 500 at the Darlington Raceway when his #97 Mercury was involved in a single-car crash without completing any of the 40 laps.

The finish, which came in his 13th career series start, was his first on the circuit since Race 12 at the Hamburg Speedway when he completed all 20 laps under power; 1 race ago. In the SCRL Grand National Series, it's the 2nd for car #97 and the 8th from a crash. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 6th for the #97 and 285th from a crash.

After trailing for the first time in his SCRL career at Hamburg, Davison and his team would make the long travel from New York to South Carolina for the first ever 500 mile race scheduled at the 1.250 mile superspeedway at the Darlington Raceway for the inaugural Southern 500.

The entry list for the fourth time this season would be the full 42 car field with both full and part-time drivers racing.

In qualifying, Christian Vargas would write his name in the history books as the first ever driver to win a pole award at Darlington with a time of 38.215 seconds. Davison would struggle after the fast high banked track, posting a time of 39.116, a full 0.901 seconds off Vargas's time, placing Davison 39th, the worst qualifying attempt all season long. Starting last in the race was the #89 Ford of Austin Hiller, who was the only driver to not take a lap during qualifying and thus would start in the finish position.

On race day, Hiller would trail for the first turn before knocking the #88 Ford of Brian Fields into last, but his stay in the final spot would be brief as summer Charlotte last-place finisher the #3 Ford of Chris Henry would be spun out after making contact from Hillsborough last-place finisher the #100 Ford of Marcus Saatchi. At the time entering Turn 3, Davison was still in 39th as he tried to pass the #22 Parks Novelty Oldsmobile of Sage Griffin, but Davison would slide up the track and actually his car went through Griffin's car before impaling the guardrail, bringing out the first of five cautions for the day, his day over without completing a lap.

It would be another five laps before any more spots would be filled in the Bottom Five as Daytona Beach last-place finisher the #44 Daytona Motors Cadillac of Chase Miller would be bumped from behind by the #20 Oldsmobile of Kaitlyn Coyne, sending Miller up the track and into the path of the #59 Lincoln of Zachary Fitzwater, starting a wreck that would collect ten cars with Fitzwater flipping over twice, as the wreck would also knock out the #65 Ford of Brandon Mayhew and the aforementioned #89 of Austin Hiller.

Rounding out the Bottom Five in 38th was two time last-place finisher the #91 Plymouth of AJ Jones, who would be caught up in a in a "Big One" that broke out in Turn 4 that collected twenty cars.

CUP: Caution free race at Hamburg gives Brent Davison the first last-place finish of his short career

Brent Davison picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Grand National Series career in Race 12 at the Hamburg Speedway when his #97 Mercury completed all 20 laps under power.

The finish came in his 12th career series start. In the SCRL Grand National Series, it's the 1st for car #97 and the 10th for running at the finish. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 5th for the #97 and 314th for running at the finish.

Davison was one of several drivers not only making their SCRL debuts in the second season of the SCRL Grand National Series, but also making their debuts in the entire league, with Davison signing on to compete full time with hopes of battling for wins and maybe even a championship. He's cup and league career would start of an a impressive way by finishing 4th in his first ever start at Daytona Beach and scoring a runner up finish to Joe Jefferson in the very next race at Charlotte. A disappointing 14th at Langhorne, would be followed by a 9th at Martinsville, a 26th at Canfield, 19th at Vernon, 22nd at Dayton, 16th at Monroe, 15th at the second Charlotte event, 25th at Hillsborough before finishing 15th at the last round at the second Dayton event.

The entry list for the ninth time this season would be only the part-time drivers, as the track wasn't big enough to fit all the full and part-time drivers.

In qualifying, Dallas Jordan would score his first career pole with a time of 21.038 seconds. Davison would struggle on his qualifying lap around the bumpy half mile track, posting a time of 21.276, while only 0.238 seconds off Jordan's time, it would place Jones in 23rd. Starting last in the race was the #11 Oldsmobile of Bob Joseph, who posted a time of 21.460, 0.422 seconds behind Jordan's pole winning time.

On race day, Joseph would trail for the first lap before knocking the #21 Lincoln of Roger James into last on Lap 2, a position that James would hold for one lap before knocking the #89 Ford of Austin Hiller into last on Lap 3. Hiller would trail for two laps before knocking the #48 Ford of Jay Jefferson into last on Lap 5, a spot he would hold for only one lap as well before passing and knocking spring Dayton last-place finisher the #2 Cadillac of Tyler Mills. 

Mills would trail for the next two laps before knocking the #16 Buick of Sebastian Torres into last on Lap 9, as Torres would trail for two laps himself before knocking spring Charlotte last-place finisher the #24 Pontiac of Nathan Ormond, who would trail for two laps as well before knocking the #87 Griffin Motors / Darlington Intl. Raceway Oldsmobile of Doug Hart into last on Lap 15. Hart would continue the trend, trailing for two circuits before passing the #43 Buick of Christian Russel into last on Lap 17. Russel would trail for another two laps himself before knocking Davison into last for the first time on the final lap, as Davison would trail over the last half mile to get back around but didn't have enough time and would trail for the first time in his short career.

Rounding out the Bottom Five were: 29th was the #24 of Nathan Ormond, 28th was the #43 of Christian Russel, 27th was two-time last-place finisher the #91 Plymouth of AJ Jones and 26th was the #87 of Doug Hart.

CUP: Broken Suspension just three laps into Dayton race gives AJ Jones his second last-place finish of the season

AJ Jones picked up the 2nd last place finish of his SCRL Grand National Series career in Race 11 at the Dayton Speedway when his #91 Plymouth fell out with suspension problems after completing 3 of the 20 laps.

The finish, which came in his 11th career series start, was his first on the circuit since Race 8 at the Monroe County Fairgrounds when he completed all 20 laps under power; 3 races ago. In the SCRL Grand National Series, it's the 2nd for car #91 and the 1st for suspension issues. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 2nd for the #91 and 2nd for suspension issues.

After trailing for the first time in his cup series at Monroe, Jones would pick it up in the next round at Charlotte, as Jones would finish 9th before Jones would be caught up in the late race wreck at Hillsborough that took out Marcus Saatchi.

The entry list for the eighth time this season would be only the part-time drivers, as the track wasn't big enough to fit all the full and part-time drivers.

In qualifying, Nick Kennedy would score his third career pole with a time of 18.786 seconds. Jones would have a decent qualifying lap, posting a time of 18.921, while only 0.135 seconds off Kennedy's time, it would place Jones in 15th. Starting last in the race was the #15 of Joe Jefferson, who posted a time of 19.230, 0.444 seconds behind Kennedy's pole winning time.

On race day, Joe would trail for only two laps before knocking spring Dayton last-place finisher the #2 Cadillac of Tyler Mills into last, as Mills would trail for the first lap around the half mile track before knocking Joe back to last the very next lap. As the field entered Turn 1, AJ, who had gained one spot since the start, began to slow and would pull to the inside of the track, stalling in Turn 2, surprisingly a caution wouldn't fly as he was well off the racing surface. Jones's car would be pushed to the garage by officials where the team would look over the car before the car would be listed as "out" by the seventh lap.

Rounding out the Bottom Five were drivers who finished on the same lap as the race leaders; 29th was the aforementioned #2 of Tyler Mills, 28th was the #43 Buick of Christian Russel, 27th was the #15 of Joe Jefferson and 26th was the #64 of Randy Mayhew.

CUP: Late race crash at Hillsborough gives Marcus Saatchi the first last-place finish of his cup career; becomes only the second driver to complete the SCRLASTCAR Triple Crown

Marcus Saatchi picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Grand National Series career in Race 10 at the Occoneechee Speedway when his #100 Ford was involved in a multi-car accident after 6 of the 10 laps.

The finish came in his 10th career series start. In the SCRL Grand National Series, it's the 1st for car #100 and the 7th from a crash. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 1st for the #100 and 284th from a crash.

Entering the second ever cup season, Saatchi had never completed in the cup series but has found success in other series, having scored seven career wins in his SCRL career and came close to winning the championship for Season 2 of the SCRL Rainbow Dash Truck Series before being taken out in a crash in the season finale at Las Vegas and losing to Jonathan Raines. Saatchi would sign to drive to full time and would finish 12th in his debut at Daytona Beach and Road Course. A 23rd at Charlotte would be followed by an 11th at Langhorne, 8th at Martinsville, 20th at Canfield, 18th at Vernon, 9th at Dayton, a series best 7th at Monroe before finishing 12th in the second event at Charlotte.

In qualifying, Zachary Fitzwater would score his first career pole with a time of 34.274 seconds. Saatchi would have a decent qualifying lap, posting a time of 34.413, while only 0.139 seconds off Fitzwater's time, it would place Saatchi in 24th. Starting last in the race was Langhorne last-place finisher the #6 Fabulous Hudson Hornet Hudson of Nick Kennedy, who posted a time of 35.162, 0.888 seconds behind Fitzwater's pole winning time.

On race day as the field began their lone pace lap, the #42 Petty Special Plymouth of Dallas Jordan pulled to the inside of the track, reporting to his crew that something was wrong with the car, as he would follow the pace car down pit road as the rest of the field took the green flag. Jordan's Petty Enterprises team would look over the car and it was discovered that they had problems with the fuel system, and after a brief check over, they sent their driver back out, hoping to repair it under yellow if a caution came out, with Jordan losing a lap before getting back out onto the track and had no car had any other problems, Dallas would trail for the first time in his short career.

While battling for 15th, the #1 Fabulous Hudson Hornet Hudson of Johnston McClellan was battling the #7 Bob Flock Garage Oldsmobile of Patrick White entering Turn 4 as the two cars would lock together and would slide up the track, hitting the concrete wall, sending McClellan for a spin as he faced on coming track while White would drive on with minor right side damage. At this point in the race, Saatchi had only gained two spots and was running in 22nd when McClellan was spun out, and with Saatchi running on the high side, he had nowhere to go and hit the car head on at almost 80 mph, with Saatchi's car sliding down the track and blocking it as the rest of the field came up on the two cars starting a pileup. Saatchi and McClellan would both limp their cars back to the garage and would be scored on the same lap with Saatchi being awarded the final spot while the Monroe last-place finisher the #91 Plymouth of AJ Jones was also involved in the pileup and scored 40th.

Finishing in 39th was the #87 Griffin Motors / Darlington Intl. Raceway Oldsmobile of Doug Hart who would suffer a tire problem while riding around under caution.

Rounding out the Bottom Five in 38th was the aforementioned #42 of Dallas Jordan, while him and his team was able to get the caution they needed, it would in fact in the race, and so he would remain the other drive one lap behind.

CUP: Chris Henry trails in caution free race at Charlotte to score his first career last-place finish

Chris Henry picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Grand National Series career in Race 9 at the Charlotte Speedway when his #3 Ford completed 29 of the 30 laps under power.

The finish came in his 8th career series start. In the SCRL Grand National Series, it's the 1st for car #3 and the 9th for running at the finish. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 22nd for the #3 and 313th for running at the finish.

Entering the second ever cup season, Henry had never competed in a SCRL race, but still was able to secure himself a full time ride in hopes of performing well and maybe winning a championship in his first ever attempt. In his debut race, Henry would finish 15th at Daytona Beach, 21st at Charlotte, a career best 6th at Langhorne, 21st at Martinsville, 13th at Canfield, 27th at Vernon before finishing 10th at Dayton. In just his eighth career start, Henry would start second at Monroe and would trail for the first thirteen laps before passing defending champion Sebastian Torres with seven laps to go and would go on to score his first career SCRL win.

The entry list for the seventh time this season would be only the part-time drivers, as the track wasn't big enough to fit all the full and part-time drivers.

In qualifying, Justin Appleby would score his first career pole with a time of 28.987 seconds. Henry was one of twenty nine drivers who was unable to post a time in qualifying around the 0.750 mile dirt track with Henry rolling off in 25th. Starting last in the race was the #97 Mercury of Brent Davison.

On race day, Brent would trail for only two turns before knocking the #10 Plymouth of Jeremy Ickle into last on the backstretch, as Ickle would trail for two laps before he would knock Henry back into last. Knowing knew it at the time, but the battle for last had ended right at that moment, as Henry would struggle for grip around the track over the remaining seventeen laps, as he would fall more then eighteen seconds behind the race leaders and finish only four car lengths in front when the checkered flag waved.

CUP: Early spin gives AJ Jones the first last-place finish of his cup career at Monroe

AJ Jones picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Grand National Series career in Race 8 at the Monroe County Fairgrounds when his #91 Plymouth completed all 20 laps under power.

The finish came in his 8th career series start. In the SCRL Grand National Series, it's the 1st for car #91 and the 8th for running at the finish. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 1st for the #91 and 312th for running at the finish.

Entering the second ever cup season, AJ has been competing in the SCRL for several years and has raked up six career wins in various series and was looking to bring that same success in his first ever cup season, signing up to driver a full season. AJ would finish 20th in his first ever start at the Daytona Beach Road Course, 25th at Charlotte, 13th at Langhorne, 26th at Martinsville, before in his 5th career start, AJ would lead all twenty laps and would score his first career cup win and become one of five drivers to win in all three major series in the SCRL. A finish of 12th at Vernon would be followed by a 15th place in the last round at Dayton.

The entry list for the sixth time this season would be only the part-time drivers, as the track wasn't big enough to fit all the full and part-time drivers.

In qualifying, Nick Kennedy would score his second career pole with a time of 26.141 seconds. AJ would have a decent qualifying lap around the half mile dirt track, posting a time of 26.392, only 0.251 seconds off Kennedy's time, it would place AJ in 11th. Starting last in the race was Dayton last-place finisher the #2 Cadillac of Tyler Mills, who posted a time of 26.834, 0.693 seconds behind Kennedy's pole winning time.

On race day, Mills would struggle around the bumpy and rough half mile track, trailing for the first five laps before knocking the #14 Plymouth of Chris Kyle fell back to last on Lap 6, but Kyle's stay in last was only for one lap as the battle for last one end one lap later. At this point in the race, Jones had fallen back to 19th and was racing with the #42 Petty Special Plymouth of Dallas Jordan, as the two locked fenders, Jones was spun to the inside of the track, his car barely avoiding a pole before regaining control of his car, taking last on Lap 7. Jones would try his hardest over the next thirteen laps to not finish last for the first time in his cup career, but the distance between himself and the car in front of him was too great, as he finished five car lengths behind the car in front.

Rounding out the Bottom Five were drivers were; 29th was the aforementioned #14 of Chris Kyle, 28th was the #2 of Tyler Mills, 27th was the #65 of Brandon Mayhew and 26th was points leader the #98 of Myron Felder.

CUP: Race long battle at Dayton ends with Tyler Mills scoring his first career last-place finish

Tyler Mills picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Grand National Series career in Race 7 at the Dayton Speedway when his #2 Cadillac completed all 20 laps under power.

The finish came in his 7th career series start. In the SCRL Grand National Series, it's the 1st for car #2 and the 7th for running at the finish. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 17th for the #2 and 311th for running at the finish.

Tyler is still in the early stages of his SCRL career, making his debut in the SCRL Busch Grand National Series, a season in which he trailed the field one time at Hickory, but had failed to visit victory lane. Mills made his cup series debut by finishing 38th at Daytona Beach after being caught up in the race's lone wreck on the first lap, a career best 5th at Charlotte would be followed with a 34th at Langhorne, 20th at Martinsville, 29th at Canfield before finishing a career and series best 3rd in the last round at Vernon.

In qualifying, Brian Fox would score his first career pole with a time of 18.701 seconds. Tyler would struggle around the half mile paved track, posting a time of 19.009, while he was only 0.308 seconds off Fox's time, it would place Tyler in 23rd. Starting last in the race was the #10 of Jeremy Ickle, who posted a time of 19.196, 0.495 seconds behind Fox's pole winning time.

On race day, Ickle would trail for the first lap before knocking the #48 Ford of Jay Jefferson into last on Lap 2 as Jefferson would trail for two laps before knocking Ickle back to last on Lap 4. Ickle would remain in last for only one lap before knocking Jefferson back to last again on Lap 5, but Ickle would return to the final spot on Lap 6. Ickle would remain in the final spot once again for only one lap, knocking the #89 of Austin Hiller into last on Lap 7, a position he would hold for two laps before knocking the #65 Brandon Mayhew into last on Lap 9.

Mayhew would trail for three laps before he knocked Mills back to last for the first time on Lap 12. Mills would trail for the next three laps before knocking Brandon back to last on Lap 16, but Brandon would fight back and knocked Tyler back to last for good on Lap 17. Mills tried his hardest around the tough passing half mile track but actually fell almost a full second behind the car in front of him by the time the checkered flag waved.

Rounding out the Bottom Five were; 29th was the aforementioned #65 of Brandon Mayhew, 28th as the #64 of Randy Mayhew, 27th was the #89 of Austin Hiller and 26th was the #48 of Jay Jefferson.

CUP: Rookie Omar Gutierrez crashes out early at Vernon

Omar Gutierrez picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Grand National Series career in Race 6 at the Vernon Fairgrounds when his #60 Oldsmobile was involved in a multi-car accident after 1 of the 20 laps.

The finish came in his 6th career series start. In the SCRL Grand National Series, it's the 1st for car #60 and the 6th from a crash. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 2nd for the #60 and 283rd from a crash.

Omar was one of many drivers making not only their SCRL Grand National Series debuts but their SCRL debut by signing up to complete in the second ever season, and would sign up to complete full time. Omar would finish a disappointing 26th at Daytona Beach, 9th at Charlotte, 23rd at Langhorne, 15th at Martinsville before finishing a career best 2nd to AJ Jones at Canfield.

The entry list for the fourth time this season would be only the part-time drivers, as the track wasn't big enough to fit all the full and part-time drivers.

In qualifying, Jeremy Ickle would score his first career pole with a time of 26.130 seconds. Omar would struggle around the half mile dirt track, posting a time of 26.858, while he was only 0.728 seconds off Ickle's time, it would place Omar in 29th, the worst starting position of the season for him. Starting last in the race was the #59 Lincoln of Zachary Fitzwater, who posted a time of 27.040, 0.910 seconds behind Ickle's pole winning time.

Johnston McClellan stalls on the Backstretch.
On race day, Fitzwater would trail for the first turn until the battle for last almost ending as the #1 Fabulous Hudson Hornet Hudson of Johnston McClellan, who had started in 21st, slowed coming out of Turn 2, before stalling on the Backstretch, bringing out the race's lone caution. Had McClellan's team not able to get him back out on track, he would have gotten his first career last-place finish, but his team was able to look over the car and saw it had only suffered a flat left front tire, and sent their driver back out onto the track, one lap down. As McClellan's car was being towed to the pits, Omar would run into the back of the #97 of Brent Davison, causing damaged to the radiator with enough force that his day was done and pulled behind the wall, being scored having completed one lap, while McClellan knocked him back to last on Lap 3.

Rounding out the Bottom Five were drivers who finished on the same lap as the race leaders; 29th was the #87 Griffin Motors / Darlington Intl. Raceway Oldsmobile of Doug Hart, 27th was the #3 of Chris Henry and 26th was the #15 of Joe Jefferson

CUP: Rookie Bruce Webster becomes the first driver to trail in back-to-back cup series races in second straight caution free race at Canfield

Bruce Webster picked up the 2nd last place finish of his SCRL Grand National Series career in the Poor Man's 500 at the Canfield Speedway when his #9 Plymouth completed all 20 laps under power.

The finish, which came in his 5th career series start, was his first on the circuit since Race 4 at the Martinsville Speedway when he completed all 50 laps under power; 1 race ago. In the SCRL Grand National Series, it's the 2nd for car #9 and the 6th for running at the finish. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 10th for the #9 and 310th for running at the finish.

After trailing for the first time in his SCRL career, Bruce's team packed up their equipment and drove from Martinsville, Virginia to Canfield, Ohio for the second race in a row to be held on a half mile dirt track.

The entry list for the third time this season would be only the part-time drivers, as the track wasn't big enough to fit all the full and part-time drivers.

In qualifying, Joe Jefferson would score his first career pole with a time of 21.020 seconds. Webster would post a time of 21.566, 0.546 seconds off Jefferson's time, placing him in 26th, the worst starting position of the season for him. Starting last in the race was the #48 Ford of Jay Jefferson, who posted a time of 21.667, 0.647 seconds behind Jefferson's pole winning time.

On race day, Jay would struggle to get going around the bumpy half mile track, trailing by almost a full half second to the closest car in front of him, while Webster went the other way, falling back and from 26th, before finally on Lap 6, Jay knocked Bruce into last place. Much like with at Martinsville, once in the last place, Bruce would stay there, falling a full fifteen seconds behind the race leaders when the checkered flag waved.

Rounding out the Bottom Five were; 29th was the #2 Cadillac of Tyler Mills, 28th was the aforementioned #48 of Jay Jefferson, 27th was the #87 Griffin Motors / Darlington Intl. Raceway Oldsmobile of Doug Hart and 26th was the #97 of Brent Davison.

CUP: Rookie Bruce Webster trails for the first time in his SCRL career in caution free race at Martinsville

Bruce Webster picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Grand National Series career in the Race 4 at the Martinsville Speedway when his #9 Plymouth completed all 50 laps under power.

The finish came in his 4th career series start. In the SCRL Grand National Series, it's the 1st for car #9 and the 5th for running at the finish. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 9th for the #9 and 309th for running at the finish.

Entering the second ever season of the newly renamed SCRL Grand National Series, Bruce Webster had never completed in a SCRL sanctioned race but was able to sign up to complete full time for a possible championship in his first ever attempt. Bruce would finish 16th at Daytona Beach in his first ever start, 11th at Charlotte before finishing a career best 4th in the last round at Langhorne.

In qualifying, Langhorne last-place finisher the #6 Fabulous Hudson Hornet Hudson of Nick Kennedy would score his first career pole with a time of 28.941 seconds. Webster would post a time of 29.277, only 0.336 seconds off Webster's time, placing him in 21st, the worst starting position of the season for him. Starting last in the race was the #11 Ford of Bob Joseph, who posted a time of 29.742, a full 0.801 seconds behind Kennedy's pole winning time.

On race day, Joseph would struggle around the dirt half mile track's rough surface, trailing for the first two laps before knocking the #20 Oldsmobile of Kaitlyn Coyne into the last spot on Lap 3. Coyne was determined to last finish last for the first time in her career, trailing for only two laps before knocking the #43 Buick of Christian Russel to last on Lap 6, Russel however would fight back as one lap later he knocked Coyne back to last the next lap on Lap 7. Coyne would struggle to gain any grip of control of her car for the next twenty two laps, remaining in the final position until finally knocking Bruce back to last on Lap 30. Bruce tried his hardest to get back around but ran out of time, finishing last for the first time in his short career.

Rounding out the Bottom Five were; 29th was Daytona Beach last-place finisher the #44 Daytona Motors Cadillac of Chase Miller, 28th was the #87 Griffin Motors / Darlington Intl. Raceway Oldsmobile of Doug Hart, 27th was the aforementioned #20 of Kaitlyn Coyne and 26th was the #91 Ford of AJ Jones.

CUP: Nick Kennedy goes for a wild tumble at Langhorne; now tied with Cole Nixey for second most last-place finishes in a SCRL career

Nick Kennedy picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Grand National Series career in the Race 3 at the Langhorne Speedway when his #6 Fabulous Hudson Hornet Hudson was involved in a multi-car accident after he completed 3 of the 15 laps.

The finish came in his 10th career series start. In the SCRL Grand National Series, it's the 1st for car #6 and the 5th from a crash. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 20th for the #6 and 282nd from a crash.

Entering his second ever Cup Series season, Nick Kennedy has already built a Hall of Fame career, having visited victory lane 16 times in his career, being one of only three drivers to win a record three races in a row and of course winning the SCRL Formula One Championship. After finishing 26th in the SCRL Busch Grand National Series Season 3, Kennedy signed on to once again race full time in the cup series, this time choosing to sign with the powerful Hudson racing team that would debut their Fabulous Hudson Hornet. Kennedy's second season would not get off to a great start as he finished 39th at Daytona Beach after being caught up in the Lap 2 crash and would finish 17th in the last round at Charlotte.

The entry list for the second time this season would be the full 42 car field with both full and part-time drivers racing on the challenging and demanding one mile track in Langhorne, Pennsylvania.

In qualifying, rookie Bruce Webster would score his first career pole with a time of 25.934 seconds. Kennedy would post a time of 25.993, only 0.059 seconds off Webster's time, placing Kennedy in 10th, the best starting position of the season. Starting last in the race was the #2 Cadillac of Tyler Mills, who posted a time of 26.106, 0.172 seconds behind Webster's pole winning time.

On race day, Mills would struggle around the near perfect circle of a track, trailing for the first two laps until the battle for last suddenly came to an end. As the #16 Plymouth of Sebastian Torres raced with the #41 Eanes Motor Co. Oldsmobile of Christian Vargas, sending both cars up the train and starting a chain reaction as the #42 Petty Special Plymouth of Dallas Jordan, the #65 Ford of Brandon Mayhew and the #7 Bob Flock Garage Oldsmobile of Patrick White would all get involved in the crash heading into Turn 1. As the field raced past the spun out cars, the #59 Lincoln of Zachary Fitzwater and the #87 Griffin Motors / Darlington Intl. Raceway Oldsmobile of Doug Hart made contact and would long fenders, sliding up the track right in front of Kennedy, who had nowhere to go, and would hit the wall nearly head on, before going into a tumble, with his car flipping two and a half times before landing on it's roof. Kennedy was able to climb from his car and was uninjured, but his car was done for the day, listed as "out" by the 7th lap.

It would take only two more laps before the next two spots would be filled as Patrick White was racing with the #89 Ford of Austin Hiller, with the two cars making contact with White being spun 180 degrees and facing on coming traffic. While most drivers was able to avoid White, the #41 of Christian Vargas was stuck on the high side and had nowhere to go, hitting White head on. While both drivers were alright after the hard hit, both cars was done for the day, being listed as 41st and 40th and having completed 9 laps.

Rounding out the Bottom Five were drivers who finished on the same lap as the race leaders; 39th was the aforementioned #59 of Zachary Fitzwater and 38th was the #87 of Doug Hart.

CUP: Nathan Ormond trails in caution free race at Charlotte; picks up the 4th last-place finish of his SCRL career

Nathan Ormond picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Grand National Series career in the Race 2 at the Charlotte Speedway when his #24 Pontiac completed 29 of the 30 laps under power.

The finish came in his 2nd career series start. In the SCRL Grand National Series, it's the 2nd for car #24 and the 4th for running at the finish. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 18th for the #24 and 308th for running at the finish.

After retiring after competing in Season 4 of the SCRL Rainbow Dash Truck Series, Nathan Ormond decided to come back and competed in the Cup Series's second ever season. After collecting 4 career wins, Ormond was looking to find success in the SCRL's highest division, signing on to drive the full 19 schedule season for owner Dick Clothier. Ormond would qualify an impressive 7th in his first ever attempt at Beach & Road Course, but would be involved in the lone caution of the day and would finish in 36th place.

The entry list for the second ever trip to the 0.750 mile dirt track in Charlotte North Carolina was bumped down to the 30 full time drivers as the track was unable to fit all full and part time drivers.

In qualifying, defending SCRL Grand National Series Champion Sebastian Torres would score his first career pole with a impressive lap time of 25.497 seconds and a speed of 211.790 mph, setting a record for the fastest time ever in a Cup Series qualifying session. Nathan was one of the twenty eight other drivers who was unable to pass inspection in time to get out on the track and had to setting for starting in 25th. Starting last in the race was the #42 Petty Special Plymouth of Dallas Jordan.

On race day, Dallas would trail for only the first turn before knocking the #100 Ford of Marcus Saatchi into the last place as Saatchi would trail for the first two laps before knocking Ormond down to last on Lap 3. No one would have guessed it at the time, but the battle for last ended right then, as Ormond would struggle around the dirt track, losing a lap to leader Joe Jefferson on Lap 18 and was never able to recover.

Finishing in 29th was the #43 Buick of Christian Russel, 28th was the #20 Oldsmobile of Kaitlyn Coyne and 27th was the #14 Lincoln of Chris Kyle, all of whom would lose a lap to the race leaders in the last ten laps of the race.

Rounding out the Bottom Five in 26th was the #59 Lincoln of Zachary Fitzwater.

CUP: Early crash at Daytona Beach gives Chase Miller the second ever last-place finish of his SCRL career

Chase Miller picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Grand National Series career at Beach & Road Course when his #44 Daytona Motors Cadillac was involved in a two-car accident after he completed 2 of the 10 laps.

The finish came in his 1st career series start. In the SCRL Grand National Series, it's the 1st for car #44 and the 4th from a crash. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 8th for the #44 and 281st from a crash.

Chase is still a rookie in the SCRL, having made his debut in the inaugural SCRL CART Series, a season in which he completed in all 14 races and finished 8th in points. Chase would come back and completed in Season 3 of the SCRL Busch Grand National Series, finishing 3rd in points. After having finishing in the Top 10 in both series in points, Chase had yet to score a win in his SCRL career and was looking to change that in the second ever Cup Series season based on the actual 1950 NASCAR Grand National Series season.

The entry list for the second ever trip to the Beach & Road Course as all 42 drivers would complete as well as the defending SCRL Strictly Stock Series Champion Sebastian Torres

In qualifying, Roger James would score his first career pole with a lap time of 151.354 seconds. Chase would performance decent in qualifying, posting a time of 153.821, a full 2.467 seconds off James's pole, placing him 19th overall. Starting last in the race was the #20 Oldsmobile of Kaitlyn Coyne who posted a time of 173.048 seconds, a full 21.694 seconds behind James's pole winning time after he spun out in Turn 1 and had trouble getting going in the dirt.

Sage Griffin stalls at the start.
On race day as the field began their lone pace lap, the #22 Parks Novelty Oldsmobile of Sage Griffin would stall on the backstretch and would have to be towed to pit road and would be sitting there as the field went to green. At the same time, the #7 Bob Flock Garage Oldsmobile of Patrick White slowed on the track due to a flat tire, and had to limp around the 4.170 mile road course while Griffin's team was able to send their driver back out onto the track and actually passed White, who would get back out on the track and was running, trailing the first two laps when the battle for last quickly ended.

While battling for 5th the #24 Pontiac of Nathan Ormond made contact with the #6 Fabulous Hudson Hornet Hudson of Nick Kennedy, sending both cars into the inside wall that was made up of wooden planks. Kennedy would regain control of his car and pulled back out onto the track right in front of the path of the #48 Ford of Jay Jefferson, as Jay had nowhere to go and slammed into the back of Kennedy, nearly sending Kennedy for a flip, while Chase was about to avoid the crash but ran into the left side of Jefferson's car with enough force that his day was over, limping back to the pit road, Chase, Jay the #41 Lincoln of Christian Vargas and the aforementioned #6 of Nick Kennedy would all be scored having completed two laps, but the final position was given to Miller.

Rounding out the Bottom Five in 38th was the #2 Cadillac of Tyler Mills, who was also involved in the crash, was able to limp around for an additional lap to make sure he wouldn't finish last, before pulling behind the pit road wall, with water visibly leaking from the radiator.
