Throwback CANADA: Nitahbk's broken camshaft at Delaware makes her first driver to fail to complete a lap in series history

Nitahbk picked up the 1st last place finish of her SCRL Tim Hortons Canadian Series career in the Season 1 Keystone Light 200 at the Delaware Speedway when her #48 Mid West Combustion Chevrolet fell out with camshaft problems without completing any of the 30 laps.

The finish came in her 3rd career series start. Nitahbk had at this point proven she belonged in the SCRL, having picked up 7 wins in the SCRL NASCAR Legends Series and was looking to continue that streak in the newest Canadian Series. Having signed on to complete in a part-time schedule, her first trip across the border was a decent finish of 9th at Mosport Speedway before choosing to bypass the twisting road course at Circuit ICAR and focus on the short track in Delaware, Ontario, Canada.

On race day, Nitabhk was scheduled to roll off starting in the 5th spot while the #98 Roofing Connection Chevrolet of Chris Kyle was to start in the final spot. As the field pulled off pit road, Nitahbk's car began to smoke as she quickly pulled down to the apron and followed the pace car down pit road and then into the garage as the field took the green. Nitahbk's car never passed the start/finish line, and once the crew found that the camshaft was broken, her day was done, becoming the first driver to fail to complete a lap.

Finishing 33rd was the #01 Canadian Tire / MotoMaster / Sylvania Dodge of Joe Jefferson, taken out in a Lap 7 crash that brought out the first caution. Finishing 32nd and 31st was the #04 Group Bellemare / GP3R Dodge of Luke Rainey and the #5 EMCO Dodge of Grayson Acevedo, both being involved in the 3rd caution that would knock both drivers out with eight laps to go.

Rounding out the Bottom Five was the #69 Lake Excavating / Cleanwerx Dodge of Colin Dryburgh, finishing two laps behind the race leaders after having been involved in two of the four cautions.

Nitahbk still continues to compete in select SCRL Series, having last run in Sun Energy Whelen Euro Elite 1, where she picked up two wins to bump her total up to 16 wins, which ranks her 5th on the all time win list, and finished 13th in points.
