Throwback ARCA TRUCK: Ryan Naughton limps home six laps down after two early wrecks at Dover

Ryan Naughton picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL ARCA Truck Series career in the Season 1 Thriftway 200 at the Dover International Speedway when his #81 unsponsored Chevrolet completed 14 of the 20 laps under power.

The finish came in his 3rd career series start. Naughton was one of 26 drivers who signed up for the ARCA Series second highest division; the ARCA Truck Series. Naughton finished 13th in his series and league debut at Toledo before scoring his first career Top 10 finish by finishing at 9th in the very next round at Mesa Marin. The entry list also saw a new driver added as Mesa Marin race winner Oreius Centaur gave up his truck to be piloted by Adam Karlson for the remainder of the season.

On race day, Naughton would roll off the field starting 23rd while the #28 ETS / Engine Rebuilders Chevrolet of Caiden Irene would roll off the grid in the final spot, a spot he would whole through the first caution as Naugton's driver got damage and then in the second and final caution got even more as he was forced to limp around for the final ten laps at half speed, pulling onto pit road to stay out of the leader's way, as he scored his first last place finish uncontested.

The remaining Bottom Five was filled by drivers who also got damage during the race and all finish one circuit behind the race leaders; 25th went to the #47 PB2 Chevrolet of Michael Matoushek, 24th went to the #30 Liuna! Chevrolet of Scott Custer, 23rd went to the #8 Gearheart Timber Management Chevrolet of Zach Borgerding and 22nd went to the #91 DeSales U Chevrolet of Chakat Whitelion.

For Ryan Naughton, the SCRL ARCA Truck Series would be the only place he would compete in, as his final race in the entire league was in the season finale, where he finished 7th at the Airborne Speedway.
