IROC: Lap 2 crash makes Richard Torres last in first start in a IROC Series race at Daytona.

Richard Torres picked up the 1st last place finish of his ONL IROC Series career in Race 1 at the Daytona International Speedway when he was involved in a multi-car crash after completing 2 of 20 laps.

The finish came in his 1st career start. In the SCRL IROC Series, it's the 1st for car #2 and the 8th from a crash. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 10th for the #2 and the 204th from a crash.

Richard is part of the Torres Brothers, along with Sebastian, as both brothers have found success in the SCRL, with Sebastian picking up 13 career wins and 3 championships while Richard has 4 career wins and 1 championship to his credit.

On race day, Richard rolled off starting in the final spot, but at the end of the first lap, the #11 of Brian Fox took the final spot and he was trailing through the tri-oval when chaos broke out as a "big one" started when the #8 of Jack Lagasse made contact with the #5 of Chakat Whitelion causing the Richard to slide down the track and then back up the track in Turn 1, causing another wreck when Richard's car came back up the track in front of, causing Richard to hit the concrete wall head on and completely destorying the car.

11th and 10th were both taken out in the same crash; 11th was the #1 of Jonathan Raines, also caught up in the crash, but was able to limp back around to complete one extra lap and 10th was the #9 of Al Lagasee.

9th was the #12 of Bulldog67, who received damaged and rode around the remaining laps with a severe damage, finishing one lap down to the race leaders.

Rounding out the Bottom Five was the #10 of Truttle, the last car on the lead lap.
