The finish came in his 6th career start. In the SCRL IROC Series, it's the 1st for car #1 and the 14th for running at the finish. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 12th for the #1 and the 152 for running at the finish.
Raines gained entry into his second IROC Series by being a former two time champion in the SCRL, his first coming in Season 2 of the SCRL Rainbow Dash Truck Series and his second coming in Season 1 of the the SCRL Formula E Series, and has raked up 6 career wins in various series. Raines had experience in competing in the IROC Series as he raced in Season 6, with a best finish of 2nd at Talladega in his second start. Raines's Season 7 started off in a bumpy way as he was caught up in the first early crash, ending his day on Lap 3 as the series traveled for the first time to South Carolina as the series prepared to run for the first time ever on a short track at the half mile Myrtle Beach Speedway.

Rounding out the Bottom Five was: 11th the #4 of Leroy Jones, 10th the #5 of Chakat Whitelion, 9th the #6 of Draco Drakul and 8th Daytona race winner the #3 of Colin Dryburgh.
