The finish came in Jones's 6th career series start.
Before this series, Jones had been a veteran of the SCRL having competed in several series and have scored two wins, one in the SCRL Wrangler Jeans Busch Grand National Series at South Boston and the SCRL Rainbow Dash Truck Series at the road course at Sears Point, and so far this season his best finish is a 2nd place at Fontana but a few bad finishes places him currently 17th in points.
Starting last on the field was the #21 Rockwell / Golden Gate Meat / Bay Bio Diesel Chevrolet driven by Von Kasier but during the pace lap the #52 51 Fifty Energy Drink Ford of Kurt Trenchermen pulled onto pit reporting of a loose wheel and forced to make a for tire stop and was scored last after the first lap and as the field made it's way down the backstretch, trouble broke out.
Much like in the East event earlier in the evening, a wreck would break out on the Backstretch as Jones and the #42 Freightliner of Arizona Chevrolet of Eddie Wycombe made contact spinning both cars out as Jones would make contact with first the #01 itxtdeals.com Ford of Greg Lee and then Mesa Marin race winner of the #15 of D.J. Kurtis as Jones's night would be done after only two nights.
Rounding out the bottom five were drivers who finished the race under power: the aforementioned #52 of Kurt Trenchermen who was the only other driver laps behind, Phoenix last place finisher the #55 First Impression Press / Hinkley Lighting Toyota of Oscar Isaac, the #15 of D.J. Kurtis and the #24 Cabinets by Hayley Toyota of Carter Friesen.
The headline of the race came from the race winner. Having finished last at Pikes Peak three rounds ago, Alejandro Yepez led a race high 17 laps and became the first driver to finish last in a race and go on to win a race in the West Series.
