West: Oscar Isaac last in wreckfest at Phoenix

Oscar Isaac picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL CatDog Pro Series West career in today's Talking Stick Resort 50 at the Phoenix International Raceway when his #55 First Impression Press / Hinkley Lighting Toyota was involved in a multi-car accident after 7 of the 34 laps.

The finish came in his 1st career series start.

Oscar Isaac has been trying to write his own legacy in the SCRL for some time now and despite two wins, one each in the SCRL Rainbow Dash Truck Series and the SCRL ARCA Truck Series, he had yet to really make his mark and after having missed signups for the SCRL Strickly Stock Series, he was looking to rebound with a strong debut in the West Series.

Starting last on the field was the #22 Century Boatland Chevrolet driven by Colin Dryburgh, who has been on fire recently, having the third most wins in league history and only seven back from the all time race winner Truttle. Dryburgh's stay in last would last one lap before the number #36 Holleran's Performance / Pegasus Trans. Ford of Jason Larker would trail the field before a wreck in Turn 1 and 2 resulting in the number #03 Rockstar / Royal Purple Ford of Riley Spurlytube getting damage and would lose a lap and would trail the field before another crash would result in a quick fill up of the bottom five.

A huge pileup would break out on the Backstretch and by the end of the seventh lap, three drivers would be done: the #55 of Oscar Isaac, the #42 Freightliner of Arizona Chevrolet of Eddie Wycombe and the #99 Bad Piggies Toyota of Marcos Yepez. Two others drivers involved in the crash, the #15 Bay Bio Diesel Chevrolet of D.J. Kurtis and the #5 Bay Bio Diesel / Johnnie Walker Chevrolet of Richard Torres, would each complete another lap before retiring themselves on Lap 8.
