The finish came in his 3rd career start. In his series debut, Hudson finished 20th at Daytona and in the next event at Bristol, Hudson finished 15th as the series moved on to their next event at the Lee USA Speedway. The entry list had grown from 23 to 25 entries as two drivers were making their series debuts, the #1 NASCAR Technical Institute / UTI Toyota of Rick Rome and the #07 Sims Metal Management Ford of dragonboy.
On race day, Nathan Hudson would roll off starting in the 18th spot while the #9 Aaron's / HendrickCars.com Chevrolet of Bo Dinger rolled off the grid in the final spot. As the field ran down the backstretch, Daytona last-place finisher the #26 American Mountain Rentals / Amtrol Chevrolet of guitarhero01234 was clipped and swerved to the inside of the track, coming back up in front of Hudson, sending both cars into the tire barrier in Turn 4. Hudson's car was completely destroyed and scored last while guitarhero was able to limp away back to the garage, completing two laps.
23rd went to the #99 Boost Mobile Toyota of Dan Bandon and 22nd went to the debuting #07 of dragonboy, both cars knocked out when both cars wrecked hard in Turn 4 on Lap 13. Rounding out the Bottom Five was the #14 Marussia / KSS Design / APO Toyota of Truttle, who finished two laps behind the race leaders.
Nathan Hudson's career in the then named ONL was brief as he would compete in several series, however never able to score a single win and has not competed in the now named SCRL in several years. The future of the East Series would also change as the series was canceled to be rebranded into the newly renamed SCRL CatDog Pro Series and the league renamed as well into the SCRL.
