Anthony Lopez picked up the 2nd last place finish of his SCRL ARCA Truck Series career in the Season 1 Army Strong 150 at the Bowman Gray Stadium when his #20 unsponsored Chevrolet completed all 20 laps under power.
The finish came in his 4th career series start, was his first on the circuit since he completed all 20 laps of the Safety Kleen 50 at the Toledo Speedway, 3 races ago.
After trailing the field in the first ever event at Toledo, Lopez picked up his first Top 10 finish by finishing 7th at Mesa Marin and finished 11th in the last round at Dover.
On race day, Lopez would roll off the field starting 16th while the #17 unsponsored Chevrolet of Oscar Isaac started in the final spot. Through the course of the twenty lap event, not a single caution would fly, allowing for drivers to battle for position in the back of the field, while up front not a single lead change would happen. By the time the Checkered Flag was flown for Keinan Busch, Lopez had fallen back to last and made history by becoming the first driver to finish last two times in the ARCA Truck Series.
The remaining Bottom Five all finished the race on the same lap as the race leaders; 25th went to the #51 Exxon Chevrolet of Adam Karlson, 24th was the #77 unsponsored Chevrolet of Spanky Ham, 23rd was the #47 unsponsored Chevrolet of Michael Matoushek and 22nd the #6 Quarrick Racing Ford of Colin Dryburgh.
Lopez would never find success in the SCRL ARCA Truck Series, but he does have two wins to his career and is currently completing in the SCRL Icebreakers Whelen Series.
