LEGENDS: Former Champion Leroy Jones gets third career last-place finish after early wreck at Greenville-Pickens

Leroy Jones picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL NASCAR Legends Series career in the Season 4 Greenville 200 at the Greenville-Pickens Speedway when his #13 unsponsored Chevrolet was involved in a multi-car crash after 3 of the 20 laps.

The finish came in his 14th start. In the SCRL NASCAR Legends Series, it's the 1st for car #13 and the 20th from a crash. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 3rd for the #13 and the 218th from a crash.

Jones is still a relative rookie in the SCRL, but quickly showed himself to be a real threat on the track, having scored two career wins which pushed him to winning the SCRL Sun Energy Whelen Euro Elite 2 Championship. Jones finished 12th in his first career start at Riverside, would finish a disappointing 33rd at Ontario, scoring a 13th at Richmond before scoring back-to-back Top 10 finishes, 6th at Rockingham and a 10th at Atlanta. Finishes of 11th at Bristol, 20th at Talladega, a series worst 39th at North Wilkesboro, a 25th at Darlington, 23rd at Charlotte, 12th at Martinsville, 15th at Michigan before scoring the second best finish of the season, a 9th in the return trip to Riverside.

On race day, Jones rolled off starting in 27th while starting last was Atlanta last-place finisher the #25 unsponsored Plymouth of TJ Dent, a spot he would only hold till the field raced down the backstretch as he knocked the #97 Long-Lewis Ford of Ryan Rush into the final spot, a position that Rush would hold until the battle for last ended when the first caution came out. Martinsville last-place finisher the #75 Kentucky Fried Chicken Special Plymouth of Dilan Ebrahimian was racing three wide with the #6 unsponsored Dodge of Adam McDowell and the #22 Coca-Cola Dodge of Sebastian Torres coming off Turn 2 as the three cars made contact, spinning out Ebrahimian in front of the field as the #11 Don Wagner Ford Sales Ford of Muhammad Zain Abdullah hit Ebrahimian causing a chain reaction. Jones was running behind the #4 Mills Plumbing Dodge of Mitchell Collins and wasn't able to hit the brakes fast enough as he slammed into Collins, while he was also run into from behind by the #00 Thomas Brothers Country Ham Chevrolet of Jimmy Sampson. Jones was able to limp back around to pitroad before pulling into the garage, his car listed as "out" on Lap 7.

Finishing 41st was Ontario last-place finisher the #8 unsponsored Ford of Zachary Fitzwater, who suffered tire problems and was seen on pit road during the second caution when the #40 7-Up Plymouth of Brian Fox also ran into the back of Mitchell Collins, knocking Fox out and being scored 40th.

Rounding out the Bottom Five was the #16 unsponsored Chevrolet of Dale Jones and the aforementioned #75 of Dilan Ebrahimian, who both finished three laps down to the race winner Trevor Collins.
