Throwback BUSCH: Dinkdrinker last at Hickory

Dinkdrinker picked up the 2nd last place finish of his SCRL Wrangler Jeans Busch Grand National Series career in the Season 1 Winston 200 at the Hickory Speedway when his #00 Thomas Bros. Country Ham Buick completed all 10 laps under power.

The finish, which came in his 15th start, was his first on the circuit since the Busch 200 at the South Boston Speedway when he fell out with tire problems after completing 20 of the 30 laps, 8 races ago

After trailing at South Boston, Dink would struggle in the next round finishing 38th at Caraway before he would rebound with a 10th at Richmond. A finish of 41st at Langley, 27th at Dover, 41st in the second Hickory event, 10th at Charlotte and would finish 33rd in the last round at Asheville.

On race day, Dinkdrinker rolled off starting 9th in the LCQ(Last Chance Qualifier) while starting last was Bristol last-place finisher the #70 unsponsored Pontiac of Todd Kennedy The ten laps at the 0.363 mile short track went by in merely ten minutes and during that time, Dinkdrinker had fallen back to the final spot and would not transfer into the main event.

Rounding out the Bottom Five was: 41st was second Hickory last-place finisher the #4 Connie Mining Tire Pontiac of AJ Jones, 40th was Caraway last-place finisher #02 unsponsored Pontiac of Grayson Acevedo, 39th was the #82 unsponsored Pontiac of Aidan Shepherd and finishing 38th was the aforementioned #70 of Todd Kennedy.
