Whelen Southern: Colin Dryburgh trails field in series third straight event at Caraway; now tied with Kyle Mests for fourth on the all time last-place list

Colin Dryburgh picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Snap-On Tools Whelen Southern Series career in the SCRL Whelen Southern Modified Tour 150 at the Caraway Speedway when his #06 Indy 3000 Fast Lube / WRS / Makel Chevrolet completed all 15 laps under power.

The finish came in his 3rd career start. In the SCRL Snap-On Tools Whelen Southern Series, it's the 1st for car #06 and the 3rd for running at the finish. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 2nd for the #06 and 122nd for reason running at the finish.

Colin Dryburgh is one of the most active and most successful drivers in the five year history of the SCRL, as he has ranked up a career total of 16 wins(including a non-points LCQ win), which ranks him 4th all time, as well as being a former champion in the SCRL ARCA Truck Series. However along with being one of the most successful drivers, Dryburgh is also known for being caught up in other's mistakes and has trailed the field eight times in his career, a total that currently has him tied for fifth all time in the last place battle, tied with Grayson Acevedo, Nick Kennedy and Cole Nixey.

Dryburgh was one of twenty drivers to sign up for the Whelen's second highest division and was looking for redemption after going winless for the first time in Season 2 of the SCRL Wrangler Jeans Busch Grand National Series. Dryburgh's Whelen career started off with originally with a 5th place finish but a starting violation for Jim Marks bumped him up a spot and in the second event, Dryburgh finished second to last, just ahead of last-place finisher Trevor Collins.

On race day, Dryburgh would roll off starting in the 19th spot while the #14 Kernersville Motorsports Dodge of Ty Dent would roll off in the 20th and final spot. Dent's stay in the final spot last two turns before he knocked the #4 DMC Auto Exchange Chevrolet of Chase McDowell to the final spot. The #01 Marek Eng. Co. / Holmes and Bahr Chevrolet of Pritti Shah took the final spot on Lap 2 and held it till Lap 4 when the #77 Curb Records / Stock Car Steel Chevrolet of Kapuel Ebai who was in the final spot for two laps until he passed the #60 BC Brennenstuhl / LI Mod Manic Chevrolet of Dilan Ebrahimian, who would lose ground with the rest of the pack until Dryburgh had also lost touch and took last on Lap 12 for the first time. Dryburgh however wasn't going down without a fight, passing Ebrahimian on Lap 13, but only to be passed just before the white flag and as much as he tried, Dyburgh scored his 9th last-place finish of his career.

The remaining Bottom Five finished on the same lap as the race leaders; 19th was the aforementioned #60 of Dilan Ebrahimian, 18th the #77 of Kapuel Ebai, 17th the #01 of Pritti Shah and 16th the #07 Patterson Automotive Group Pontiac of Keith Stevens.
