BUSCH: Season 1 Champion Jack Lagasee gets first career last-place finish as Bottom Five fills up before Lap 5 at South Boston

Jack Lagasee picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Wrangler Jeans Busch Grand National Series career on Wednesday's Coca-Cola 200 at the South Boston Speedway when his #28 Skoal Bandit Pontiac was involved in a multi-car accident after 3 of the 30 laps.

The finish occurred in his 49th career series start. In the SCRL Busch Series, it's the 1st for car #11 and the 22nd for crash. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 6th for Car #11 and 182nd for crash.

Jack Lagasee is the defending SCRL Wrangler Jeans Busch Grand National Series Champion on the strength of three wins, while entering Season 2, Jack had yet to finish last in all 29 previous starts. Jack's season starting off by finishing 15th at Daytona for the second year in a row but it wouldn't be until the 13th race of the Season at South Boston where Jack would return to victory lane while at the same time, he was in a season long battle with Chakat Whitelion over the points lead entering the fourth South Boston race of the season.

On race day, Jack would roll off the field in 13th while starting last was the #89 unsponsored Pontiac of Joshua Rush a spot he would hold for the first lap before on Lap 2 two time last-place finisher the #98 Levi Garrett Pontiac of James Stabilito was knocked back to last and was trailing the field when chaos broke out as Jack Lagasee made contact with the #17 Aladdin Industries Pontiac of Sammy Sabre Jr., sending both cars into the inside wall as Lagasee would flip four times before landing on all four wheels as more cars behind them were involved. Amazingly, Lagasee would drive away from the crash scene, but only a short distance as he pulled into the garage, his car listed as out by Lap 4.

41st went to the #23 Miller High Life Pontiac of Samet Ozkan, who was scored on the same lap as Jack Lagasee, but was placed in 41st. 40th went to the aforementioned #98 of James Stabilito, as he was able to limp across the line and complete Lap 4, 39th went to North Wilkesboro last-place finisher the #45 Luck Stone Pontiac Patrick Smith and rounding out the Bottom Five in 38th was the #6 Mason Day Paving Chevrolet of Henry Urchman, all of whom also completed one more lap then Lagasee and Ozkan.
