CANADA: Lap 1 altercation between Brian Fox and Rocco Twyman knocks both drivers out at CTMP

Brian Fox picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Tim Hortons Canadian Series career in the Season 2 Vortex Brake Pads 200 at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park when his #71 L'Equipeur Dodge was involved in a two-car crash after completing 1 of the 6 laps.

The finish came in his 1st career series start. In the SCRL Tim Hortons Canadian Series, it's the 1st for car #71 and the 9th from a crash. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 7th for the #71 and the 206th from a crash.

Despite having never competed in the SCRL Tim Hortons Canadian Series, Fox is one of the most successful drivers in league history with two championships and 12 career wins, which ties him with Riley Spurlytube for 8th on the all time win list.

On race day, Fox would roll off the field starting 15th while the #47 WeatherTech Canada / Bellemare Dodge of Eddie Wycombe started in the final spot. At the drop of the green flag, Wycombe was determined to not collect another last-place finsh after collecting three in the SCRL Icebreaker's Whelen Series, as Wycombe knocked the #99 White Motorsports Chevrolet of Joshua Rush into the final spot as the field entered Turn 1. Rush would remain in the final spot until Rush knocked Wycombe back to the final spot in Turn 5, a spot Wycombe would hold until the battle for last was over in Turn 9.

At that time, Fox was battling the #94 Carquest Canada Dodge of Rocco Twyman entering the esses, when Fox made contact with Twyman, turning Twyman's car around as they headed off track. Twyman would hit the tire barrier just feet after the concrete wall started and hit the barrier driver side; Fox's car kept going and hit the barrier nearly head on. Both drivers were able to climb from their cars and walked to the infield care center, both were uninjured, but both cars were completely destroyed and done for the day, the only cars to not finish the race.

Rounding out the Bottom Five were drivers who all finished on the same lap as the race leaders: 30th was the #99 of Joshua Rush, 29th the #36 VR Victoriaville Dodge of Carter Joey and 28th was the #47 of Eddie Wycombe.
