Jeff Bright picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Rainbow Dash Truck Series career in Monday's Chevy Trucks Challenge at the Walt Disney World Speedway when his #4 Link-Belt Construction Chevrolet was involved in a multi-truck crash after 9 of 22 laps.
The finish, came in Bright's 21st series start. Entering Season 3 of the Rainbow Dash Truck Series, Bright had some previous success as he had scored two wins in his career one in the SCRL Formula E Series(at Hockenheimring) and in the SCRL V8 Supercar Series(at Hidden Valley Raceway), both road course events.
On race day Bright would roll off the grid 36th while starting last was the #24 Quaker State Chevrolet of Sebastian Torres but as the field was rolling off pit road, the #2 Team ASE Racing Ford of Jay Jefferson would pull into his pit stall with his team raising the truck up on the jack, reporting a flat tire and if Jefferson's team didn't get him back out onto the track, Jefferson would be the first driver to not complete a lap in a truck series race since Charlie Foos trailed the field when he suffered engine problems in the Season 2 Kragen 151 at Sears Point Raceway.
Jefferson's team would fix the problem and get their truck back out onto the track but a few laps later a multi-truck crash would break out involving several trucks as Jeff Bright failed to slow down in time and ran into the back of the #1 Southern Pride Trucking Chevrolet of Gustavo Arocha as Jeff would be done for the day, pulling into the garage just a few seconds before his brother, the #21 Orleans Hotel & Casino Chevrolet of El Bright.
Rounding out the bottom five was 36th the #80 LCI Telecommunications Ford of Greg Lee, also involved in the same crash, but would complete one more lap before retiring. 35th went to the aforementioned #2 of Jay Jefferson, involved in a hard crash on the 15th circuit after contact from the #94 Super 8 Motel Ford of Jimmy Potter who would round out the bottom five, finishing on the same lap as race winner Carter Frisen
