Trucks: Jeff Bright scores second last-place finish of the season in rare caution free race at Portland

Jeff Bright picked up the 2nd last place finish of his SCRL Rainbow Dash Truck Series career in Friday's Craftsman 200 at the Portland Speedway when his #4 Link-Belt Construction Chevrolet completed all of the 20 laps.

The finish, which came in Bright's 25th career series start, was his second of the season, his first since Walt Disney World, four races ago. The finish puts Bright into the lead in the battle for the SCRLASTCAR Championship for Season 3.

After finishing last at Walt Disney World, Bright would finish 32nd at Tucson, 38th at Phoenix before finishing a season best 11th at Homestead one round ago.

On race day, Bright would roll off the grid 24th while starting last was the #04 M-R Motorsports Chevrolet of Maria Valera but by the end of Lap #1 Tucson race winner the #80 LCI Telecommunications Ford of Greg Lee would fall back to last and would trail the field for the first two laps before the #98 Raybestos Ford of Jason Larker would take over last on the third lap before Lee would take it back on the 6th lap.

A new challenger would appear in the form of the #43 Cummins Engines Dodge of Marcus Saatchi who would trail the field before the #99 Exide Batteries Ford of James Stabilito would take over last on the 13th lap, the #24 Quaker State Chevrolet of Sebastian Torres on the 14th lap before Stabilito would take over on the 15th lap. On Lap 18, Bright would fall back to last for the first time and he would trail the field for the remaining laps and would score the second last place finish of the season.

The remaining bottom five was filled up by lap 4 by drivers who were all able to finish on the same lap as the race winner the #2 Team ASE Racing Ford of Jay Jefferson; 32nd went to the aforementioned #99 of James Stabilito, 31st went to Tucson race winner the #80 of Greg Lee, 30th went to the #21 Orleans Hotel & Casino Chevrolet of Eli Bright and 29th went to the aforementioned #24 of Sebastian Torres.
