CANADA: Wreck just seconds after the green flag at Trois-Rivieres gives Rhea Pemberton the first last-place finish of his SCRL career

Rhea Pemberton picked up the 1st last place finish of his SCRL Tim Hortons Candian Series career in Wednesday's JuliaWine.com 100 at Circuit Trois-Rivieres when his #19 Holmar Plumbing Dodge was involved in a multi-car crash without completing any of the 10 laps.

The finish came in his 3rd career series start. In the SCRL Tim Hortons Candian Series, it's the 1st for car #19 and the 14th from a crash. Across all the series in the SCRL, it's the 14th for the #19 and the 287th from a crash.

Rhea is one of many drivers still looking to make a name for hisself in the SCRL, having competed in a few series before this, but hasn't been to victory lane yet or made his mark in the SCRL. Choosing to compete in a part-time schedule driving for team owner Reg Arsenault, Rhea would make his debut at the first race of the season at CTMP, starting 15th and finishing 16th. Rhea's next scheduled race would be three races later at the twisting and demanding Circuit ICAR, where he would start 25th and would finish a season worst 21st. With the team working with limited resources, Rhea and the team would sit out the next three races, choosing to return at the 1.530 mile street course at Trois-Rivieres.

The entry list for the third time this season would be a full 33 car field for the first time since CTMP, after Blaise Zebrataur and Chakat Lightingblaze pulled out of the ICAR event at the last moment.

In qualifying, four time SCRL Champion Sebastian Torres scored his first career series pole, posting a time of 67.621 seconds. Rhea would struggle in qualifying, posting a time of 68.206, 0.585 seconds off Torres's time, it would place Rhea 30th on the grid. Starting last in the race was the #02 Leland / BDI / Gaunt Collision Ford of Morton Gray, who posted the slowest time of 68.573, 0.952 seconds behind Torres's pole winning time.

When Wednesday's race started, the #16 Mercedes-Benz St. Nicolas Chevrolet of Billy Kidd, who was going to start 24th, and defending race winner and Series Champion the #27 La Cite De Mirabel Inc. Dodge of Chris Kyle, who was going to start 19th, both forfeited their original starting spots and pulled to the rear of the field on the pace lap due to unapproved adjustments.

When the green flag waved, the field would make their way easily through Turn 6 without a problem, but as they entered Turn 7, the #88 Lucas Oil Chevrolet of Derek Greene was spun out by the #84 Equipment Express Chevrolet of David Byers, sending both cars into the concrete wall before being sent out back in front of the pack, as the #39 Motos Illimitees / DLGL / Kawasaki Dodge of Al Lagasee had no where to go and slammed into Greene's car, while the #19 of Rhea had nowhere to go and slammed into the back of Lagasse's car, completely destroying his car and bringing out the race's first caution. Rhea would limp back to pit road, but made that sharp left hand turn into the garage, the team looked over the car but the damage was too severe, and Rhea's car would be listed as "out" by Lap 3.

Finishing 32nd was the #22 Canadian Tire / Sylvania Dodge of Owen Carvin who, while running in 11th, would be involved in a single car crash at Porte Duplessis, the narrow concrete gateway of the grounds at turn 3, bringing out the race's second and final caution on Lap 4.

The remaining Bottom Five would finish on the same lap as the race leaders: 31st was the aforementioned #39 of Al Lagasee, 30th was the #47 WeatherTech Canada / Bellemare of Cameron Hathaway and 29th was the #03 Snap-On Tools / Circuit ICAR Dodge of Chase Abbott.
